The ancient castle of Carpiano near Gubbio in Italy dates back to 10th Century. Having subsequently been abandoned for many decades, Riccardo & Marilisa Parisi discovered the old hamlet in 2001 and immediately fell in love with that "pile of rocks". Beyond the careful and stunningly beautiful restoration of its buildings, they have also created the "Borgo di Carpiano" - by far our favourite place to take a holiday and "un-plug".
We're having fun! This "work" which we are about to undertake really doesn't seem like "work" at this point.
While the morning sunrise on Sunday wasn't quite as spectacular as the previous day, there were a lot more folks up to share and enjoy an early start to the day.
None other than Quick Left's Operations Manager/in-house artist/rainbow maker, Ali Schultz, is hosting the #BSW13 & BMoCa Unplug event Friday night. Audience members enjoyed performances from musician Harper Phillips, performance artist Tara Rynders and peruse BMoCA's current exhibition, Museum of Broken Relationships. Stories from esteemed leaders in the Boulder Startup community were interpreted by Boulder's own Playback Theater West. Believe us, you have never heard, or seen, these stories like this before. I have always enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music including Pop, Rock, and R&B/Soul music. When I turned 13 years old, my parents gave me permission to create an iTunes account of my own. I was elated, and from that moment on have been an avid user of iTunes and the iPod. Today, however, I had a lot of trouble accessing iTunes and programming my new iPod. I was sitting on the sofa with my iPod in hand and my laptop in front of me, preparing to install iTunes onto my new iPod. When I plugged my iPod into my laptop, the word EJECTING, PLEASE WAIT, kept popping up onto my iPod screen. I was really angry because my iTunes account would not read my iPod. So, I contacted a supervisor who worked at the Apple Corporation to help me fix the problem. After spending approximately 2 hours struggling with iTunes and my iPod, I simply gave up. But as I went to unplug my iPod from my laptop, I realized that my connector cord between my iPod and laptop was not plugged in all the way. Once I pushed the cord all the way, the screen said CHARGING, which meant that my laptop now realized my iPod was connected. In no time, I was jamming out to one of my favorite songs, Heat of the Moment by Asia.
