Unplug from the screens and engage your kids in the adventure of experiential learning. Here in this 4,000-square-foot space specially designed for our pint-sized playmates, children can stretch out and explore the elements of nature at their own pace. Rosemary, scented geranium, oregano, and other fragrant herbs line the ramp, piquing their senses as they bounce along to the rhythms of cascading waterfalls and child-sized fountains featuring a menagerie of creatures. A bamboo maze and a dripping cave provide an element of discovery and surprise. Hidden bugs wait to be spotted in the architecture, set to the backdrop of colorful mosaic tiles. Many of our guests have been bringing their children here for years, and adults who came here when they were young still fondly recall how much fun it was to explore this wonderland. After all, what better place to grow up than in a garden?

Blended Exposure

I couldn't unplug their teleconference stuff, so I cloned the right back side of the table and mirrored it over the left side (you can see the back 3 chairs repeat). Sneaky sneaky.

My wife and I decided that the best way to unplug from our lives was to get on a boat and get as far away as we can! We got to enjoy to sights and sounds that our southern country of Mexico had to offer aboard the Carnival Fantasy Cruise liner. And, I got to try my hand in street photography using vintage lenses. Honestly one of the best vacations to date, and we are looking forward to going back!

I had a different photograph in mind, but the concept came out the same.

Sometimes we just need to unplug & unwind.

Yup....it's that time again where I show you some conceptual book covers. Of course compared to the five book covers I posted on Flickr, this was both done on the iPad and Cintiq. The main piece was done on the Cintiq while the painting was done on the iPad.

MAIN ILLUSTRATION: Sketchbook Pro on the Cintiq

APARTMENT PAINTING:

WE USE THIS PUMP TO DO WATER CHANGES ON BUBBS TANK & THE SNAILS. BUBBS TANK IS A 200 GAL SO THIS IS THE BEST WAY TO DO WATER CHANGES.....BUCKETS & SIPHONS TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND IS SUPER MESSY.

I ADDED THE COMBINATION SWITCH BECAUSE THE PUMP DID NOT COME WITH A ON/OFF SWITCH IT WAS A REAL PAIN TO HAVE TO UNPLUG/PLUG IN EVERY TIME WE WANTED TO CYCLE THE PUMP.

It has a 50's sort of quaintness. If the catch (that slinky looking thing) isn't latched over the cover the truck won't start. A safety feature in case you forgot to unplug.

My new radiator.

Replacing a radiator in most cars is a very easy task. Mine was... easy.

unplug the power to cooling fan, remove it with a couple 10mm bolts.

remove clamps from the top and bottom hoses and disconnect them from the engine, not the radiator.

remove the hold down bolts from the top of the radiator.

lift it out.

replace with this new shiny one and re-install in opposite order. Check your old hoses, make sure they aren't soft or cracked.

refill the radiator and start the car to check for leaky hoses (you should replace the clamps with new band clamps.) Let it run to get air out of the system or you might have problems with an air pocket when there should be coolant in the entire system.

Leave knowing that you saved at least $100.

Total time 1 hour. Total cost $110.

Needed to unplug a little.

Are we teaching our children the wrong thing in relation to animals? Shoot them for fun?
