I discovered that I I have some really old books, like REALLY OLD! I found distant ancestors names written inside the book covers and an old photo of my grandfather fell out of one ancient book.
This stack of books made me anxious for Fall and cozying up to floor pillows in front of a crackling fire in the fireplace! Escaping into a good book from under a comfy blanket is sorely needed!
52 Week Self Portrait Project - Week 6 – “Monday Mornings” What is the very first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? For myself, I reach over and unplug my phone after banging on the alarm clock in attempt to engage the snooze button. There’s nothing more satisfying than that extra 10 minutes of sleep before I’ve got to get up and get my morning started. After I find my way through at least 2 rounds of “snoozes” I grab my phone and begin reading emails, looking through my calendar for what my priorities are for the day, and lastly browsing through each social network for updates that require my attention. I believe the first hour you’re awake you set the tone for your whole day. My day always requires steady attention to email, calendar, and social networks, so this is always the first thing I do. Once you’ve identified what your days will typically require from you, try and build some activities into the first hour you're awake to help you pay attention to your goal the rest of the day. For example, if you’re trying to loose weight, or gain muscle, begin your morning with a healthy dose of protein and other nutrients to prepare your mind and body for your workout later.

This is two photos stitched together. The dryer burned my hand it was so hot. Tomorrow I'm going to unplug the dryer before I work on it, and see if I can take the back panel off and find a bird nest or some other stuff that is blocking things. If I can't fix it that way, then I guess I'll have to hire a repairman.
Normally I like birds, but not when they present a danger to me and my home.

Hooked up to a heart rate alarm at the hospital. My heart rate is typically in the low 40s and this was set to go off whenever it dropped below 50. We needed to unplug it.

there are parts of this picture i dont like, but whatever.
Initially, I just wanted to photograph this entrance which belongs to the Theater Of The Living Arts in Philadelphia. More and more often when people are around I start playing with settings and capture additional random images to see what happens.
Following the wonderful pre-show on Kawawaymog Lake, the sun rose and made for a beautiful morning.
This picture is from Saturday, but I'm using it for today's @dailyshoot because it made enough of an impression that @giuliaforsythe noted and referred to it by the timestamp. A close second to the pre-show, I think.
Having re-installed my usual hard drive, I'm now in the process of syncing, transferring, organizing, and tagging photos, and will post selections from our wonderful experience at Unplug'd over the next few days.

I don't believe many chairs get taken home when the plant closes down, and the last employee unplugs the coffee pot.
It’s a cover over a power outlet. Personally, I don’t see why you need to hide the outlet, but I have to give the hotel props for having four fully accessible outlets (two on each side) right by the bed. I wish more hotels had that; often I have to unplug a bedside light to plug in my CPAP machine or charge my phone.

After the top cover is gone you will need to lift your motherboard up.
To do so you will need to release two locks on the bottom of the motherboard.
Make sure you unplug the fan cable, otherwise you might break it.
Also remove the rubber plug from the modem.
I got this idea and directions from School for Us.
Put shaving cream on a baking sheet. Spread it out.Add drops of food coloring and smear around with toothpicks or forks. Place a piece of paper on top and press down. Lift up paper and scrape off shaving cream with a spatula. Then wipe clean with a cloth or paper towels. Paper dries fast!
It feels quite strange to be able to post any photos, but it sure feels good : ) After being without a computer for four days, I collected my old and new machines and, to my horror, discovered that there was not a single one of my thousands of photos on my new computer! The word "deleted" flashed through my mind and it wasn't till later yesterday that I was finally able to check my old computer to see if my photos were still on it. Relief flooded through me and I could physically feel my stress level plunge, lol. It took one and a half days of crawling under my computer table to plug and unplug the ever-growing tangle of cords to reach the point where I could actually use my old computer. What a nightmare! To say that I am not impressed with the service I got from the store this week is an understatement. Six years ago, the same people had done such a great job of transferring all the data from an old to a new computer, which is why I went back to them. However, now that the weekend is over and the store will be open again, I have to phone them and ask why they didn't transfer all my images. Tomorrow, I have minor surgery, so all this was supposed to have been done by now, so that I could spend my recovery time editing photos, learning Windows 7, etc.. I knew I would not be able to take or collect the heavy, awkward to carry hard drives or be bending and stretching under my desk for a while, so I am really annoyed, to say the least. For now, though, I am SO relieved that I was finally able to get the new monitor hooked up to the old computer, so that it works. Of course, someone who knows everything about computers would have solved all this many hours sooner : )
Normally, Maximilian Sunflowers grow further east in Canada, but these particular ones were growing in the Frank Lake area, SE of Calgary, on 3 September 2011. I don't know of any other location, so was happy to see and photograph these. A nice image for a -23C (windchill -30C) day today.
