Great day, great dinner, great song! Lyle Lovett's song Closing Time popped in my head looking back into the restaurant where we had just had a wonderful dinner. Old Town Eureka - shutting down for the night.
I got this idea and directions from School for Us.
Put shaving cream on a baking sheet. Spread it out.Add drops of food coloring and smear around with toothpicks or forks. Place a piece of paper on top and press down. Lift up paper and scrape off shaving cream with a spatula. Then wipe clean with a cloth or paper towels. Paper dries fast!

I killed it mixing up the spritz cookies. Nearly 20 years of service, and the stiff spritz dough finally does it in. (Smoke started coming out of the beater holes, so I thought it best to unplug and pitch.)

EEEENNNEEEEERGYYYYYYYYYY seriously seriously Red Bull is like my I DON'T KNOW, MY CURE ALL AND AND AND UH
..I'm not THAT bad, actually. Though, I've been trying to "unplug" my ears all day (still leftover from being sick), drinking water, forced-yawning, everything, and nothing worked. Then, two swigs of Red Bull and suddenly OH GLORIOUS SOUND~ It is a phenomenon that cannot be explained.
Speaking of unexplainable phenomena... I was sitting in the library at school today, next to the men's bathroom--I don't know why, poor seating choice on my part I guess--and I notice this guy walk into the restroom. Ok. Cool. No big deal. Right? But then, a few minutes later, the same guy walks out of the bathroom, except now suddenly he's holding...A SANDWICH.
HE WENT IN EMPTY HANDED AND LEFT... WITH A SANDWICH. ...WHAT. Maybe it's like...in women's bathrooms there's those quarter machines with tampons and pads and stuff. Do they have SANDWICH MACHINES in men's bathrooms? Was there a random exchange of SANDWICHES going on by the sinks or something? Or maybe the HAND OF GOD reached down and was all SURPRISE! HAVE A SANDWICH.
Also, wow, every time I have said "sandwich" so far, I have spelled it WRONG.
INCLUDING JUST NOW ;;; But anyway,

I have a tiny 4ft silver christmas tree, not a vintage one, a modern one that looks vintage. I dont have to move furniture around to accomidate it, I dont have to water it (and forget to water it and risk a fire) I just plug it in every morning and unplug it at night so we can sleep. It is sweet, and I love it. This year I inherited a bunch of vintage ornaments from Husbands sweet grandparents. More of those shots to come. They look perfect on my little silver tree. That is where I got my star, it is an old ornament from grandparents.

The Pemberton and District Community Centre will be hosting an Unplug and Play event on Sunday, May 1 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm as a kickoff event to Screen Free Week.
The event is geared towards creating awareness for families on the importance of balancing technology use with time with family, creative pursuits, recreation and nature. Children today are increasingly connecting to technology and disconnecting from themselves, their close relationships, and nature. Parents are encouraged to participate.

Ok, so this is a real stretch for this challenge. This is the sunrise from our balcony in Los Cabos, Mexico. Since all energy starts with the Sun, I figured I could make a loose connection to a power plug ;-)
Day one of our vacation, (travel days don't count), started with breakfast on the balcony at dawn and whale-watching. I have decided to unplug while we're here. I brought my little netbook, which choked just trying to download the large RAW files from my camera. Processing them with this thing will take too much time away from relaxing! After all I'm on vacation and I have way more pressing things to do :-). I'll take my shots and then upload them and catch up with all of you when I get back. See you in a week...

A significant amount of rock and mud came down the hillside and plugged culverts along SR 20 between Newhalem and Diablo during a Dec. 11 rainstorm. Crews have worked diligently to unplug the culverts and get the creeks and streams back in their channels and flowing through culverts.

A new year is just around the corner, and one of my goals for 2018 is to UNPLUG more often so that I can get outside more, read more, exercise more and live more. Happy New Year!
I got the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 brand new, an impressive huge and heavy lens, but unfortunately there seems to be some issues with the lens:
1. at aperture f2.8-5 the lens is very soft and produces a very low contrast image
2. this lens seems to be very soft above 50mm
3. I get a strange error, when I do not turn on the camera for a few days with the lens mounted. The error: it can not focus! I have to unplug the lens while the camera is on, mount the lens on once again, then the autofocus works again.
