Another view, with mirror "window" on left, and reflections bringing in light. Good angle to see the too-long patio window that hangs over from the file cabinets on right.

In-process paper and files easily stash under the patio glass overhang. I was too cheap to have a glass piece cut to fit the file cabinets, but I found a tempered glass window that fit -- sort of. (Thanks, Freecycle.org.) Hence the overhang, which has been a serendipitous blessing. I shove papers underneath when I leave the office, and the desk always looks tidy. The computer mouse and keyboard sit on a glass shelf under the desk surface - when I push the shef in, they 'disappear' visually.

Tomorrow, I complete this and load it up with books.

A wicker duck full of dried flowers.

Needed to clean up the craft area so that the adult crafts and the crafts for my nephew, who will be spending the days with me soon, are ready and available. It is amazing the stuff that I found, the amount of art supplies I have left over from Michael's grade school days, and the projects started that have not been completed. That all ends now.

Maybe now I can get creative and start an Etsy shop someday!

I don't know WHAT these are about.

It doesn't take much to keep me productive on the road. Laptop, AC power inverter, and Blackberry with a data plan and I am ready to go.

For comfort I have the Sirius and "mobile refreshment center" from any fast food restaurant.

time to unclutter...

We barely use this room for Fiona to play in, otherwise a bunch of old books sit in squalor

Ta-da!

I built IKEA Kassett boxes and put the alphabetized DVDs in them. On the ends, where there was excess space, I put larger box sets.

It's not quite finished (notice the row on the bottom), but it's definitely a huge step in the right direction.

my work space, after I made the monitor stand and wrapped up the cables. I stuck the power strip there with 3M adhesive.

IKEA Billy shelves have a 3" kickout for floor moulding and ours are around 4" so I had to cut to get them to sit flush against the wall

I bought 4 Panama embroideries 20 years ago, put them in standard oak frames (which I'm going to spray black), and hung them with fishing line which disappears to the eye. A friend customized hooks so I can slip them under the acoustic ceiling tiles and move artwork around. (He bent British art hooks formerly shaped like an S for wood picture moldings in old British houses. Thanks, Idaho.)

I gave it a new year's unclutter - this is what was left underneath.

There is exactly enough room for four Billy bookcases on this wall. I had to trim a tiny bit of moulding to get it all squeaking in.

This is what I saw when I first walked into my new, north-facing office space in April. Grey floor. Grey walls. Grey-ish acoustic tile ceiling. A 24" dark brown wood slab was mounted under the window as a standard desk. I thought I would die in there. Then I caught the maintenance crew and nabbed their electric drill to unscrew the desk. 2 hefty guys helped haul it into the hall so I could start on a light, bright space where NU alumni would feel welcome and I could work with energy and peace.

one of the hidden wonders of Negros Island. Beautiful marine life..sadly I never had a chance to shoot underwater, but hopefully this year I will. I lalso submitted this picture for a contest. www.visamovingimages.com/

I got a letter that angered me so I decided It was time to unclutter my brain and regroup with a little meditation.

WAH:Unclutter

Finally, I got one of those grill they used for hanging things in the store, and cut it to size. This is to keep good circulation for my modem, and the bricks.

Poetography: Week 225: You choice: I have chosen "Life"

It took a ridiculous amount of planning to get power hidden behind them and all proper wires run.

Tried to unclutter my screen and ended up with this. The silver setting in XP was a happy coincidence after adding the wallpaper. Top right is Google Desktop Search's Floating Deskbar.

I try to set aside time each day to unclutter and settle my mind, through yoga, photography, walking Tipper or reading.

The first of four shelves goes in, screwed against the wall and doors on the front

DailyShoot: "Rules" can be stifling if taken to extremes. Break the rules today with focus, composition, etc, and see what happens.

Rule I usually stick to: Unclutter the photo. :)

Stop, breathe, see the flowers, feel the warmth.

In a world full of clutter, an intimate moment with flowers can be a reminder of the beauty of life itself. Flowers are joyous and beautiful and made more so because they are fleeting, a beautiful moment, a gift from god, a celebration of nature.

These large paintings of flowers have been expressively drawn using line, as line is personal and intimate, being as unique as handwriting. The flowers have been cropped for the same reason, an intimate snapshot, and the paint is translucent to portray the fragility, delicacy and temporary nature of flowers. This also speaks of the tradition of painting flowers in watercolour. The background is less translucent as this is the sun only, which is permanent.

The paintings are almost all one colour and one variety of flower and they have been abstracted, flattened and simplified to unclutter, keeping only the essential shapes or essence and eliminating distracting details or noise, allowing us to breathe.

In preparation for the arrival of our daughter, Jime and I have been uncluttering our apartment. It was time to do something about the closet full of CDs I've been accumulating for the past 20 years.

I've long abandoned CDs as my preferred medium for the enjoyment of music, but I like to keep the discs around in case I need to re-rip something. I decided to move the discs to Case Logic binders, and store the liner notes elsewhere.

Given that the primary purpose of keeping the discs around was as a backup to the MP3s, I decided to store the discs in alpha order, based on the album name. I started stacks for each letter in the alphabet on our coffee table.

After I wrapped the board with black sticker, I use printouts to dress it up a little. Those are printout from pages of Mai Otome manga.

Some ornaments I want to get rid of for Unclutter 2009. Finally got shot of them at the start of March.

Hide Photoshop or Illustrator toolbar and let MagicPicker unclutter your workspace. All active shortcuts from the original toolbar for quick color management are in one place available on the panel: foreground and background swatches (can be bigger than originals, stroke/background colors in Illustrator), default colors, color exchange and foreground/background link (specific to MagicPicker, covered in previous tutorials).

Voila! a monitor stand made to fit my use.

Janurary 2013: All the other pictures have been removed to unclutter my stream. This is the most flattering anyway ;)

The detail is incredible.

more wires. I get the wires that go to the top of the desk in the corner and use 3M wire holder thing to hold them all in place.

I had to clean up. All I saw was clutter.
