One of the most famous 'houses of residence' of the University of Copenhagen (KU) and Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The College (Kollegium) Regensen as it is called was built in 1623 by King Christian IV, who also erected the Round Tower in the background in 1642.

Here talented yet non-privileged students are selected from many applicants to reside here in the heart of Copenhagen for a small fee of around Eur. 200/-.

The College houses 99 students from across the spectrum of academic disciplines at KU and DTU. The Provost and the Porter with their families also have apartments in the complex.

These young students clearing up after a party have had illustrious predecessors: Danish intellectuals including Nobel laureate N. Finsen and former Prime Minister J.O. Krag. Read more about Regensen here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regensen

I dont normally do HDR shots but I thought this one suited it well. This was taken on a dawn trip in to the city and a quick stop off at this building. Its an old hotel but the architecture is very different. I just wish the sky was better on this but I will definately be back on my next visit!

University Library, Cambridge, 17 May 2015

The current University Library building was constructed between 1931 and 1934 under architect Giles Gilbert Scott, who also designed the neighbouring Clare Memorial Court (part of Clare College). It bears a marked resemblance to Scott's industrial architecture, a famous example of which is Bankside Power Station (the home of the Tate Modern).

Looking up at the circular area which connects two building. It was meant as a social area for relaxing and sharing research. To get to the other buildings you have to come in throw this building, which was purposely done so you have to run into other doctors and scientist.
