This vehicle is the top response to an emergency medical call in France and carries a doctor as part of the crew. It is one of the three types of French ambulances operating in the area.
Our Daily Challenge - Hobbies. A lot of my hobbies I found hard to come up with good photographs, reading, listen to music, collecting the above, family history, so went for woodworking. I particularly like turning and scroll saw work (see the clock for the half challenge), but have not done so much recently. Even managed to get a bit of motion blur in if you look hard, but it was a bit hit or miss as I had to use the slef timer.
Chinook ZA679 was one of the original batch of Chinooks delivered to the RAF back in 1981 as a HC1. The aircraft has been upgraded several times and is now a HC6.
Taking a break from Spain pictures because I spent a brilliant evening down on the Parrog in Newport, Pembrokeshire. I've been living, full time, in west Wales for two years this weekend, and this evening was a nice present...I got there just as the tide was turning, and the sun was setting. Half an hour after this I'd be underwater standing in the dark!
I know it's often not the best idea but I do like shooting into the sun! This is one image, not an HDR shot, taken at f/10 and ISO 100
Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm and Canon 60D
Carter hasn't been around on Flickr much for the last couple of years, because he lives with my parents while I am in vet school (in a tiny cottage too small for Carter), and because I am too busy to take many pictures. I don't get to see him nearly as much as I want to. He's turning 12 on January 11th! The other day I got to help my vet remove a tumor that turned out to be just a lipoma (I wanted to be absolutely sure!), and Carter's bloodwork was perfect. So he's turning 12 and refusing to act his age! What a good dog!
turning up and around the surface of the earth, preparing the big! veggie garden for coming homegrown food... all done by hand! we got a cold spell, rain expected, new snow in the mountains... horse manure coming soon, ready for planting
The first shuttle of the day 8S02 was running slightly late, so this saw the train reverse at the Albury end of the passing lane that reaches Gerogery. (Location: Gerogery South) 3265 is seen with a full head of steam, as the safety valves lift as the diesels prepare to haul the train back to Albury as 8S03. 15/03/2014.

Experiment with long exposure. I moved the camera around in a corner of my kitchen. Photo processed to enhance colours & contrast.
A response to "Get Pushed", where my partner shreya59 (photostream at www.flickr.com/photos/25799138@N02/) gave me a choice of challenges including long exposure. Thanks, Shreya, I had fun with this & learnt a lot.

I'm turning around to show you the back of my dress, which has a special partly open design. Also notice how my skirt follows my rotating motion with a little delay; such a swinging skirt is so feminine and graceful.
