Behind them was Freightliner Class 66 Diesel Locomotive 66531 being conveyed “Dead in Train” . Possibly as far a Crewe Basford Hall Yard . No doubt to save a “light engine” path . ( and the costs associated with that sort of move ) .
From this angle , you can see by the feather ( line of white lights ) above the platform end signal . That this service is routed on to the North London Line at Stratford Central Junctions . This will enable this train to access the West Coast Main Line at Primrose Hill and Camden Junctions . Then a race down the WCML to Crewe Basford Hall Yard , where it will recess for approximately an hour , before continuing to Manchester .
