CHASSIS FEATURES
The rigid chassis and suspension geometry were specifically designed to deliver a supple, confident ride and help isolate the passenger cabin from imperfection in the road.
Upfront, reverse L-shaped lower control arms and high caster angles provide superior steering feel and excellent straight-line stability. Large sub frame bushings improve the ride and isolate unwanted noise, vibration and harshness. All four wheels are controlled by coil springs, fade-resistant, gas-charged dampers and front and rear stabilizer bars. The Veracruz GLS uses 17-inch, five split-spoke aluminum wheels and 245/65R17 tires, while the SE and Limited trims ride on 18-inch, five-spoke aluminum wheels and 245/60R18 tires. Add in rack-and-pinion power steering, with a tighter minimum turning radius than the shorter Lexus RX350 and Nissan Murano, and the end result is a vehicle with precise steering and handling, and a well-controlled yet comfortable ride.

Fausto Coppi won the 1953 Campione del Mondo (World Championship) in Lugano, Switzerland riding for Bianchi on a bike similar in many ways to this one except his crank was alloy (aluminum - very rare for the time) . Bianchi immediately celebrated that win with a commemorative bike model called Campione del Mondo (World Champion).
This bike is a 1953/54 Bianchi Campione del Mondo. Still researching but looks to be correct due to parts dating. The crank is clean now as you will see in the other pics in this set. 30 years of dirt and crud from hanging in a shed and a garage in Houston. Her chome is turning out beautiful, the paint....well now thats another story.
I plan on painting her Celeste this year but I really enjoy looking at her in her current condition because...well...."YOU JUST CAN'T BUY OLD AT THE STORE".

The last of this roll of 120 film taken at Burnham Green with the Yashica 124G. I consider the purchase a success but it is no happy snapper both in handling and cost of film etc. However it is a camera in which you plan your shot by working the location and light I think the results can be rewarding.
Istanbul, Turkey, 2010
A passenger ferry turns around as it leaves a terminal at the entrance to the Golden Horn, the ancient harbor of Istanbul. The ferry will soon turn into the Sea of Marmara and head for the Asian side of Istnabul.
The Hagia Sophia stands behind the ferry on the peninsula between the Golden Horn and the Sea of Marmara. It has experienced its own turnings. Built as a church in 537, it was turned into a mosque in 1453 by the Turkish conquerors and into a museum in 1935 by the secular government of Ataturk. In 2020 the present Islamist government of Turkey turned it back into a mosque.
