Spotted this single translucent fungi in a field in Ahimate Reserve, Palmerston North. I was fascinated by it's transparency, patterns and shape.
17 image stack with helicon focus. Had to shelter it from the breeze but magaged to get a successful stack in the end!
I'm completely stumped about this little guy's identification. I took the photo because I liked the way he was backlit, but when I wanted to get a good look at him, he was gone in a flash. If anyone knows, please contact me.
Translucent in the bright morning sun. Memories of autumn (this was taken exactly a month ago - hard to believe how fast time passes).

I didn't intend to be gone this long...It has been busy here in Texas but all is well.
Was lovely finding this recently eclosed Orange Ladybird! Love the ghostly spots! At this point in the day (dusk) I realised I'd lost my LED light ring during my walk, hence high ISO etc...!

"Fegyverben réved fönn a téli ég,
kemény a menny és vándor a vidék,
halkul a hó, megáll az elmenő,
lehellete a lobbant keszkenő.
Hol is vagyok? Egy szalmaszál nagyon
helyezkedik a csontozott uton;
kis, száraz nemzet; izgágán szuszog,
zuzódik, zizzen, izzad és buzog.
De fönn a hegyen ágyat bont a köd,
mint egykor melléd: mellé leülök.
Bajos szél jaját csendben hallgatom,
csak hulló hajam repes vállamon.
Óh szÃv! nyugodj! Vad boróka hegyén
szerelem szólal, incseleg felém,
pirkadó madár, karcsu, koronás,
de áttetsző, mint minden látomás."

The translucent life is very much about
overflowing with a gift to the world,
rather than being here to consume
or to get something for yourself.

7 Days with Flickr - Friday: flora
An orchid flower, backlit by the light of an overcast day through the window and a boost in the blue range of the spectrum when making it monochrome, but not enough to make it unreal, I hope.
Pentax K-S1, 50mm Pentax-M, 13mm macro extension tube. 6x7 crop and monochrome in photoshop.
A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Translucent". The Australian wildflower the Flannel Flower (Actinots helianthi) is now flowering in Manly Dam near where I live, and this example shows the translucence of its white petals.
