I'm completely stumped about this little guy's identification. I took the photo because I liked the way he was backlit, but when I wanted to get a good look at him, he was gone in a flash. If anyone knows, please contact me.
For 'Macro Mondays' theme of 'Translucent'
As usual bright ideas don't turn out as you anticipate or hope for, and then the unexpected presents itself!
A small bottle backlit on the desktop surrounded by a cylinder of tracing paper that just happened to gape open! A case of grabbing the camera which just happened to have a lens attached - four quick photographs all handheld, and unusually this is the last taken.
A little post-processing involving light levels, sharpness and colour balance, and here is an unanticipated result.
I've listened to myself saying 'KISS' (Keep It Simple Stupid') - it is certainly that!

When I went on the search for something translucent for this week's theme this wee stapler quickly caught my eye. I think the design is good, I can hold it up to the light to check if staples are loaded. I used my usual A4 silvered cards, windowlight and a mobile phone torch with the macro lens.
The translucent life is very much about
overflowing with a gift to the world,
rather than being here to consume
or to get something for yourself.

An orchid flower, backlit by the light of an overcast day through the window and a boost in the blue range of the spectrum when making it monochrome, but not enough to make it unreal, I hope.

"Fegyverben réved fönn a téli ég,
kemény a menny és vándor a vidék,
halkul a hó, megáll az elmenő,
lehellete a lobbant keszkenő.
Hol is vagyok? Egy szalmaszál nagyon
helyezkedik a csontozott uton;
kis, száraz nemzet; izgágán szuszog,
zuzódik, zizzen, izzad és buzog.
De fönn a hegyen ágyat bont a köd,
mint egykor melléd: mellé leülök.
Bajos szél jaját csendben hallgatom,
csak hulló hajam repes vállamon.
Óh szív! nyugodj! Vad boróka hegyén
szerelem szólal, incseleg felém,
pirkadó madár, karcsu, koronás,
de áttetsző, mint minden látomás."

I have to thank Mother Nature for her assistance today - The windshield has been made translucent by the rain. You can see through but not!
Spotted this single translucent fungi in a field in Ahimate Reserve, Palmerston North. I was fascinated by it's transparency, patterns and shape.

Hovering around for a second or two while I practised my focus-tracking!...!...! And named "pellucid" (translucent) for the way light passes through the ivory-white band across its abdomen.
