Complementary Colors for Macro Monday's 70mm x 53mm - red orange & green blue - HMM! It was the only flower left on a mowed field - a tiny little poppy
This tiny Tiffany inspired lamp was Chris's idea as my choice was a backlit Desert Rose flower.
Chris has always been more creative than I :)
Perhaps that is why we have lasted 34 years?
Snow, like the ice particles it’s made up of, is actually colourless. It’s translucent, which means that light does not pass through it easily (like it would transparent glass), but is rather reflected. It’s the light reflected off a snowflake’s faceted surface that creates its white appearance.
Deep snow can often appear blue. This is because layers of snow can create a filter for the light, causing more red light to be absorbed than blue light. The result is that deeper snow appears blue - think about how your snowy footprints compare to the surrounding landscape.

Yet another one from the collection. This time it's a vintage (although probably not too old) Japanese millefiori glass button, which is about ¾" wide. It's leaning against an opaque glass perfume bottle. I've gone for simplicity this time. :)
For this week's Macro Mondays group theme, Glass.
Lemons are irreplaceable in winter. Not only do they improve many foods and drinks, but they are also extremely healthy. Cakes, sauces and cocktails are refined with lemon and get that sparkling whistle.

The monarch butterfly is one of the most recognizable and well studied butterflies on the planet. Famous for their seasonal migration, millions of monarchs migrate from the United States and Canada south to California and Mexico for the winter. The monarch butterfly exhibits the most highly evolved migration pattern of any known species of butterfly or moth and perhaps any known insect. Monarch's are considered the “king” of the butterflies, hence the name “monarch”.

I love the look of cherries. The translucent quality of this little group plus the fine cottonwood fluff that had landed on them just made them so appealing to me. Large really shows the details if you've time.
Thank you!
