Sakura’s pale pink, translucent petals against the spring sunlight.

Hey! This hit #190 for interestingness (or so it's telling me on 5/17.)

Autumn at the Shielings (what grows in the roof)

Did you know...your skin is translucent in infrared light? Not a corpse actually, but it sure has that appearance....

A candy dish lid propped on a sunny window sill. The facets in the glass aren't accurate enough to transmit a clear image but they can catch color and shapes that give the glass a colorful appearance. Thanks to all who view, like and comment on this picture. HMM!

Up close look at a slice of a translucent stalactite or possibly a stalagmite, hard to tell from the slice. For the Macro Mondays Group, Challenge: translucent.

Sam Smith - Fire On Fire (From "Watership Down")

Fire on fire

But let's not let them ruin our beautiful rhythms

because when you talk to me,

and you tell me that you love me, and you look into my eyes.

You are perfection, my only direction.

It's fire on fire, ......

Fuoco in fiamme

Ma non lasciamo che rovinino i nostri bei ritmi

perché quando mi parli

e mi dici che mi ami e mi guardi negli occhi.

Sei la perfezione, la mia unica direzione.

È fuoco in fiamme, ...

Translucent Dreams

"A world of translucent dreams,

where shadows weave their tales under a trembling moonlight,

in the silence of the night within hidden forests."

"Love me in a world of translucent dreams" - Dan Enache

Glass ashtray being hit by yellow and blue light from the sides (used cellphone flashligths and color gels) and the bounced light from a glitter-covered table ornament from behind. Macro mondays - translucent.

This is one image in a series I'm shooting on parking decks ... shapes and forms, light and shadow play, mood and atmosphere. Some images are minimalist; others representational; still others abstract. To see more in the series click Parking Deck Series

A translucent crystal with some mineral deposits.

Love that poppies are so paper thin that the sunlight sparkles right through them. Today was a sparkly blue sky full of summer goodness. Thanks for such a fun day Shereen!

Some interesting light on this subject.

I’m told this tiny creature is a male saffron-winged meadowhawk.

Temps dipped below freezing last night, causing the bird bath to freeze over with translucent ice. It made this interesting, almost bird-head like ice formation. It reminds me of a Heron's head. The formation is about 4cm or just over one and a half inches long.
