A small sculpure of a woman with a (functional) lamp in her hand seems to walk down a vertical pillar at Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA, as pedestrians follow their own paths below.
This area with many staircases had a number of these figures appearing to walk on various vertical surfaces to great disorienting effect. A little Googling after the fact shows that they're part of an installation by the artist Dan Webb. I couldn't resist taking shots of as many as I could find.
Until I spotted this rather chunky and heavyweight BMW X5 model at my local Toymaster/Toyland store, i'd never seen this casting before. Its made by a Chinese company called Top Mark who according to their website make quite a big selection of diecast models in various scales. This X5 is crisply cast with a realistic SUV ride height and detailed interior. This somehow gets away with being unlicensed although ironically its probably superior to a lot of the more recent Matchbox stuff. Part of a 15 piece set. Mint and boxed.
Top Pot was named after a old closed Chinese Restaurant in the same location. 2124 5th Ave. Seattle, Washington.

Sadly, nineteen-year-old Gumbo has not been healthy enough to maintain his top spot, and Mr. Grigsby makes a point to make certain every other feline knows that he is the new #1. Especially a pesky eight-month-old kitten. Lulu has no choice but to respect Mr. Grigsby. She often chooses to avoid him unless I am near. Smart little girl.

I got the top for his quilt done!
Used crazy 9 patch blocks and white sashing. Used the tutorial at Oh, Fransson for the 9 patch blocks, but in a different size (mine are 12"x12" finished blocks and hers in the tutorial were 7.5"x7.5" finished).
No pattern for the quilt, just knew how big I wanted it to be (70"x90") and did the math. :)
