The motion picture "Top Gun" made the F-14 a Hollywood Starlet thanks to Maverick, Goose, Slider and Iceman.
Hard to believe that the airplane I used to watch in real world ops has been retired and now less than half a dozen remain intact at the in AMARG. The only ones still left besides these are in museums or sitting as static displays on assorted bases.

My Flickr friend John recently posted his 10 favorite albums and encouraged me to do the same.
I enjoy a wide range of music, so picking just 10 albums is one difficult task. So let's just say these 10 are high among the 100's I wouldn't want to live without!
Charlie Parker - Dial and Savoy master takes. OK, I'm cheating already as this is at least two albums. But Bird, with a handful of other geniuses, created the vocabulary of modern jazz, and every note here is precious.
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue. Possibly the single greatest jazz album ever cut.
Charles Mingus - Blues & Roots . There's a joyful spirit to this album which knocks me over every time.
Carla Bley Band - Social Studies. Great stuff, progressive yet accessible. Splendid orchestration throughout.
Now on to rock & folk..
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited. Could just as well have been "Blonde on Blonde" or "Blood on the Tracks", but this one has "Desolation Row" on it, which I consider Dylan's magnum opus..
Simon & Garfunkel - Box Set I've loved them since I was a kid of 8or 9, listening to my older brother's records. Probably explains a lot about my current worldview, seeing as how I was groovin' at that age to songs about people gassing themselves in lonely apartments....
Grateful Dead - American Beauty - For a few years, I was a real Dead Head, and of course the live jams are where it's at. Still, the beauty of the lyrics on this album helped me through many a tough time..
Elvis Costello - Get Happy! Each of the two or three minute songs on this one is a perfect jewel. The lyrics cut like the dialogue in a film noir..
Chicago - The Blues Today - Vol 1 - Representing the many blues artists I love is this album, which features selections from Junior Wells / Buddy Guy / J.B. Hutto / and Otis Spann
Beethoven - The Complete Works - Since I've only left myself room for one classical, I'll just take this 85 CD set covering all the works of my favorite composer..:)

E contrariando meu hábito, vim mostrar de noite msm meu top 13 do ano passado...desta vez, não foi de esmaltinhos e sim de manis, pq foi mais fácil de escolher!
Sim, top 13!! vcs não leram errado! tem só 12 fotinhas aí, mas é q minhas habilidades ~montagísticas~ são as melhores, daí q eu pus a última mani ~suzinha~ nos comments!
Eu até podia fazer a chique e dizer q a coloquei em separado, por conta de todo o significado q ela representa, que consiste basicamente na mani mais comentada da minha galeria, apesar de ser um cremosão (O.O) e vermelhón! sim, é culpa de vcs q me disseram veementemente q deveria apostar mais em vermelhos q ornam! hahaha! e eu acreditei!
Tbm vão perceber q deu mto azul na parada e pouco lilás/roxo, néah Naty...logo eu q sou a q mais uso essas variantes!
Tbm foi surpresa pra minha pessoa e para o dignissimo q ao ver comentou: ué, achei q ia dar uma fileira de roxo, uma de azul, uma linha de glitter e o vermelho pra cumprir cota! hahahahahah!
Daí q eu disse q glitter poderia ser todas, mas nem foi néah gentxiiii!
Então, vamo ao bláh bláh bláh! Maais??

As the barber-shops opened yesterday, I was lucky to get a free chair at my local barber (which is also a friend of me and my wife) and after I got my sleek cut I took some shots in his shop.
He likes to upcylce old stuff and likes old school razors, clippers etc. and his shop generally has very old school interior
Unfortunately I was a bit in a hurry so I could only take a few shots. In maybe 4 weeks more will follow.
All pictures are taken with my Fuji X-Pro1 & XF35/f1.4 as RAW-files and processed afterwards in Affinity Photo.

Month theme: an everyday slice of life
We’ve just returned from an epig day trip to the famous mountains in the Bernese alps called Eiger, Mönch und Jungfrau.
We took a rather adventures rack and pinion railway to reach the station Jungfraujoch, also called “Top of Europe”.
Needless to say… “Top of Europe” was conquered in minutes :-)
We’re a bit pooped from sitting on the train for more than eight hours, so more pictures and conquering reports tomorrow :-)
I wanted to make a maternity top for myself with a non-maternity top as inspiration.
Destined to fail but it turned out semi-ok! I didn't use a pattern at all, just the measurements of my strange-shaped body right now. Let me tell you, before I sewed it up it looked like a tent {it still does!}.
It's made from simple red cotton with black stripes, I switched the stripes direction for the sleeves and the yoke. it has a zipper down the back so I can squish myself into it and pintucks at the front.

Fabrics and fusible fleece provided by April for this project. I believe they are from the Pillow & Maxfield Whimsy line.
April's Lap Top Sleeve Pattern is designed so that you can create a custom lap top sleeve that will snugly fit your own lap top. Plug your lap top's measurements into her simple formula & you are on your way. She minimizes cutting time by instructions to stack the fabrics and cut most of the pieces at once. Clever use of french side seams makes a neat & easy to complete project. The sleeve is padded with fusible fleece to give it a nice weight & structure. The added front pocket is a welcome feature - even my husband commented on that :)
My only caveat is that your machine needs to be able to handle a fair amount of bulk, especially when sewing the final side seams. Using a 90/14 sharp machine needle and keeping your presser foot level your presser foot should help.
I would definitely make this again. Way to go on your very first published pattern April!

I had this head with ruined hair, so I decided to give her a flock. This is the first glueing passage. I cut her own hair in super tiny pieces to do this flocking.
I'm getting into this trouser-wearing lark, although, to be fair, I've had a great deal of practice if you think about it :-)

The top tube of my fixed gear bike broke. I bought the bike in 1987. I guess I got my money's worth.
I was riding yesterday and the frame felt oddly squirrely. And this evening the whole front end shimmied like crazy, but because it was dark I didn't notice the break in the top tube until I was within a half mile of home.
To Georgie: It's probably a good thing that I didn't try standing on this top tube this evening :-)
This is the spray bottle of the stuff we spritz around the plants so the cat won't scratch at the dirt. It doesn't work very well.
