A short section of stone flooring with latterly increased height by way of a concrete addition. As this is a very short isolated stretch of stonework the likelihood is that it was formerly a very short culverted section taking the stream under a roadway or path, which was later built up to.

Don't know what wrong with me, I keep taking photos are a day or two later not being happy with them and deleting them. For the moment I quite like this one so lets hope I've got my 'mojo' back.
Pattern: New Look 6217.
Mods: lengthened sleeves, added about 1cm at underarm for FBA, straightened hem, raised front neck edge, button back, two small darts in the back for slight waist shaping.
Fabric: a piece of linen from my grandmother's stash that I dyed two years ago. I was all determined to sew it up straight away and not let it sit in the cupboard... Ahem, well, here it is.
The linen is lovely and soft already. That prominent stripe that runs right across about 1cm below the "bust apex" (read: nipples) is a little unfortunate, but I don't think it looks too bad on; I chose the placement based on the bottom edge and only had just enough fabric anyway. Seams are overcast and then stitched down, not quite as pretty as other options but I didn't want to add any bulk. The neck and hem are finished with bias tape (Liberty misprint).
