Ella thoroughly enjoyed sampling the flavor of her Christmas presents' wrapping paper. We don't acually let her eat the paper, but she's very quick!
Our cat got to open his Chrismast presents today. Next year, I'm just buying him a big pile of tissue paper--by far his favorite thing to get!

Adding another layer of Mod Podge decoupage glue to the top of the design. This has a couple of purposes: it helps make sure everything's good and glued, plus is gives the top a shiny, slick surface (the glue dries clear).

"Mogwai Art"
Ink on Tissue Paper
Yesterday I went to Kolektib to jam with a few friends. It was quite an intimate set up and a couple of other "real" bands played with us. It was a laid back evening until Juan Pablo Dream did an awesome set @ CubaoX. My feet hurt because of too much dancing.
My doodles are usually inspired by islamic art, and i find this kind of doodling very therapeutic. Plus, it helps me pass the time. I did this while waiting for the band to play at this place called Mogwai. I didn't bring any paper with me so I made the drawing on a tissue paper. I figured, eh..what the hell. This will be my drawing for the day. Thank goodness the paper napkin was two-ply.
Now I'm off to lunch with my family. I'll bring my sketchbook this time. :)
My original pattern pieces, made of copier paper, which was way too heavy to attempt to "gather." Also, note the, um, miscalculation of the length of the bodice back.
I drafted these loosely from the actual pattern pieces, at a scale of 1/4" = 1", and I was being pretty loosey goosey with the measuring. I fixed the bodice length when I recut these in tissue paper.

To twist the end, I put my thumb just past the half way point on the big leaves and twisted the bottom 1/2 inch.

The pre-school where my grandson attends made these from pink tissue paper for the Mother's Day Tea. My daughter wore hers to work for two days. I am going to wear mine to church tomorrow.
Alas, I forgot but I am wearing it the rest of the day.

Students learnt about impressionism and Monet's body of work and then used tissue paper to imitate his many water lily paintings. Great for younger groups new to learning about art history.
