I made it look... magical ;p
This was the topic of a pamphlet being given out in our work cafeteria. (acrylic, tissue paper, crystalline paper, fish from a how to book on keeping a freshwater aquarium, Dylusions spray)
I was in awe of Cathey Love's Dragon Eye project when she posted it on Facebook, so we had to try it at McNeil. It's in the rotation now!
We drew dragon eyes, went over that drawing with Sharpies, added shaded colored pencil accents, and then the real fun happened - we used bleeding tissue squares to add color! I've never used bleeding tissues before, but I'm hooked. What a fun way to add color. For the last step, we added chalk pastel to the eye.
I really love how each eyes is as individual as the artist making it.

Passion fruit cupcake, with passion fruit pulp syrup filling, and cream cheese passion fruit frosting!
Visited the MA in Fine Arts end of year show at the University of Brighton Gallery / Sallis Benney Theatre a few months ago. I don’t know if this was part of that show but downstairs was a room filled with pairs of balloons tied to sheets of tissue paper. You were free to move around the room while balloons drifted around you. I liked both the exact physics and echoes of Warhol’s factory. I should have noted down the artist and name of installation.
The childrens event was part of the opening for the exhibition on the Hanging Gardens of Babylon in the Gallery, at the Swiss Cottage Library. This Camden Outreach project combines the work of 5 community groups inspired by Camden green spaces and flora decoration. Artist David Allsop. Exhibition March-May 2009
Multilayer day!
I printed the butterflies onto tissue paper using my inkjet and Mod Podged them onto magazine ads. After they were dry, I cut them out and collaged them onto paint chips.
1 & 3 are from Absolut ads and 2 is from a Nokia ad.
Clip art is from etc.usf.edu/clipart/.
James's make and do project that everyone joined in on. Made out of painted kitchen sponge and tissue paper for the peas.

Yellow is a hard colour to play with. You can barely see my inked border.

Also, SARAL graphite paper, even when erased to half-strength, shows up way too much thru watercolour pencil.

Created for Our Daily Challenge: Something for Easter.
In the comments are two close-ups of my egg rose. I don't know which I like best. I like this one for the reflection in the window. I like the close-ups for the detail. Which do you prefer?
I am due to give a talk next week about sustainable gift wrapping.
This is one example
I wrapped a delicate china jug in some red tissue paper ( recycled of course) and then added an embroidered and padded cuff for extra protection
I recently held a giveaway on my blog, and had two Hero Arts clear stamp sets and one Hero Arts wood stamp to prepare for mailing.
Because I am mailing them, I decided to use a tag for a card and tissue paper as the wrapping, to minimize the weight and thus the shipping charges.
Stamping on the tissue paper was a bit trickier than I thought. I ended up liking tone-on-tone results the best. And it was helpful to make sure the tissue paper was flat and taught before stamping ... so an extra pair of hands or good paper weights can help!
I really like how the packages turned out and sure hope the recipients enjoy them!
Back of tag with room for a personal message
Thanks for looking!
Another card with torn paper and stitching. I've used three different
types of paper - cellophane, tissue paper and a paper like a sugar
paper. I like the contrast of the textures and weights. I love the way the
colours complement and enhance each other and blend together to
make something new that they couldn't do on their own. This card is
part of a series. I posted another one in the series a few photos ago
which is made from the same papers but in portrait shape instead of
landscape. I find it so interesting that a small change can completely
alter the look of the card. The possibilities are endless!
3 piece canvas...scrap metal motor parts, and printed circuit boards. telling the story left to right of the old giving way to new technologies.
tissuepaper background
On this page printed tissue was glued to cardstock and painted with acrylic paint. The background paper was given a light coat of white paint. The title word was dry embossed then painted gold and metallic white.
Cards I made with help from my daughter for her preschool class. We glued colored tissue paper to cardstock to create the heart and then glued it to the card and sewed a border. The stamp is from paper source. The finished card is 4.25" x 5.5", so you can make 4 from 1 piece of 8.5" x 11" piece of card stock. Now we just need to attach the lollipops!
This piece was created using lots of stencils I have designed and cut by hand in my studio for a stunning mixed media effect full of layers and texture.
I added acrylics, pastels, origami paper, ink and pencil.

These tissue paper votive jars turned out so nicely last year that we HAD to save them to display again!
Just this evening, I found tiny printable vintage lights boxes, to tuck in front. I love how simple yet pretty these are!
If anyone likes the little boxes, I found them here: toyshopgreetings.com/blog/2010/11/14/christmas-papercraft...
