Yellow is a hard colour to play with. You can barely see my inked border.
Also, SARAL graphite paper, even when erased to half-strength, shows up way too much thru watercolour pencil.
This is a close up of the worded Christmas stickers I have. I hope I can use these this coming Holiday season!
This beautiful painting was created by adding layers of acrylic paint with oil pastels in the forefront. I also used tissue paper to create depth and texture. Painting is stretched on a 1 1/2 inch frame so there is no need for framing. Also it is gallery wrapped (painting continues around entire frame)

The one on the left is for a Cupcake ATC swap on Swap-bot. The cupcake is made from a tissue paper collage, which was fun and easy to do =)
Blogged. Personal collection, not for trade.
This craft was inspired by one of my EcoEtsy team mates who made these candle-holders to celebrate Earth Hour. I made these with my 3yo out of torn tissue paper, glue and a variety of jars and cans. To finish them off, we added glitter to the rims. We sent the cans out to friends and family who live far away...all of the grandmom's got egg-carton flower bouquets on Mother's Day to put in their cans. :)

this little princess loves tissue paper but, it has to be colored or patterned or she won't go near it.
Our cat got to open his Chrismast presents today. Next year, I'm just buying him a big pile of tissue paper--by far his favorite thing to get!

Here is my third entry for Canon's Photo5 2012 competition. The brief was 'tissue paper + strong colour'.
I had a ball doing this, as I had to wake up super early (before sunrise) to stick the tissue paper to a wall that may not be owned by me. I felt slightly rebellious, however I had comfort in knowing that it was only Blu-tacked, so people could remove it if they wanted.
I like how the grunginess of the wall contrasts with the beautiful flowing trees.
In any case, it livened up the wall :)
i head back to work tomorrow for our abbreviated summer school session...from what i can gather, enrollment is typically low, and there aren't many kids that show up on a daily basis. i've been advised it's best to just do some fun stuff. i came up with this idea to do a sort of beach ball based diorama.
using the artist Johanna Basford helped me to design a sketch for my work based on a theme of cutlery, crockery and cakes in black and white
Based on a Newfoundland harbour. Tissue paper layers were applied to a canvas board base with glue-water mixture (similar to paper mache) to give texture. Painted over texture with acrylic.
Done 2004.

Christmas 2009
While being on Vido Summer Camp we had a lot of birthday parties going on day by day. My present for each of them was a little Birthday Wishes Book made with recycled materials such as cereal cardboard boxes and other embellishments.

i'm making them and then putting them up so they don't get smooshed before the wedding! they'll be fluffed out the day before when they're hung up.

What if ...you combine a screen print on fabric with torn, dyed, printed tissue paper?
I have resurrected this screen print on fabric after a dayschool with Stacey HarveyBrown. Because I am working with my papers for my weaving project I have taken a block print of a star in metallic paint on tissue paper and torn it into pieces before gluing it onto my screen printed fabric. The tissue paper is quite plastic like as it has dripped powdered dyes mixed with marvin and 'glooped' onto the paper. It is very tasty :O)
Almost forgot to mention that I have a T-bag torn up and added too - almost nest like I think. A lot of work to be done stitch wise as it is about 12'' across
I've been having lots of fun at The Dal House forum in recent months. October is the Dal Project Runway challenge that Offgenemi/gochemoche is hosting.
This is for Challenge #1, where contestants are to create an outfit for Dal made out of paper, or paper-based materials. Use of adhesives like tape & glue is fine, as are sewing materials like needle and thread.
Here's the finished dress shown on Tekka-Maki. In hindsight, some little slip on shoes to match would have been a good idea.
Color-photocopy on tracing paper over collage of black and white vintage ephemera. Approx 3 x 3 inches.
San Diego Opera is doing a Madame Butterfly this year in which we will use thousands and thousands of tissue paper flower petals. We had an open house for potential supernumeraries tonight and one of the activities was a petal-tearing contest. Whoever could tear the stack of tissue paper the fastest won a prize. Nothing like enlisting cheap labor!
