Make a box out of old CD covers and decorated it with tissue paper. For some reason just liked this angle of the paper with the touch of glitter! :)
I've been having lots of fun at The Dal House forum in recent months. October is the Dal Project Runway challenge that Offgenemi/gochemoche is hosting.
This is for Challenge #1, where contestants are to create an outfit for Dal made out of paper, or paper-based materials. Use of adhesives like tape & glue is fine, as are sewing materials like needle and thread.
Here's the finished dress shown on Tekka-Maki. In hindsight, some little slip on shoes to match would have been a good idea.
This is a part of a diorama that my niece made for the holidays. She loves making things and has quite a creative mind. This was her snowman in the front yard, complete with luminaries surrounding him. The snow on the ground is wadded up tiny pieces of paper, the flames are tissue paper and all of the accessories seen here are first hand colored with colored pencils. More posts to follow......busy visiting with family:)

The new catnip mice and feather-stick thingies and bizzy balls and blankies are getting quite a playing with by the cats. They just love their new toys. The hands-down hit of the holiday season in this house, however, is the Red Tissue Paper. Peabie dove into a gift bag that held a gift for Mark and took out the red tissue paper. They all LOVE it. They lie on it. They dive under it! They shred it (well, Peabie shreds it).
I am working towards a workshop session I am running with a friend next month.
We are featuring the use of transparent and translucent paper in book art.
I have spent a very messy morning coating various papers with baby oil and I had so many samples that i had to peg some outside.
This shows tissue paper and a printed paper bag after coating.
The results are very encouraging.
I loved making these when I was a little girl... twisting little bits of tissue paper on the end of my pencil and sticking them onto paper in the shapes of hearts, chicks and other animals :) blogged @ rosinahuber.blogspot.com/2011/04/fluffy-tissue-easter-chi...

She will stalk you for your napkin or your tissue. This purple tissue paper has totally made her day. As I type this, she's asleep on the couch and still holding it in her mouth!
I was playing around with my scanner and decided to scan a leaf with some tissue paper as a back ground...yeah this is my sad attempt to be creative.
"We don't have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory." - Howard Zinn

I made it look... magical ;p
This was the topic of a pamphlet being given out in our work cafeteria. (acrylic, tissue paper, crystalline paper, fish from a how to book on keeping a freshwater aquarium, Dylusions spray)
I was in awe of Cathey Love's Dragon Eye project when she posted it on Facebook, so we had to try it at McNeil. It's in the rotation now!
We drew dragon eyes, went over that drawing with Sharpies, added shaded colored pencil accents, and then the real fun happened - we used bleeding tissue squares to add color! I've never used bleeding tissues before, but I'm hooked. What a fun way to add color. For the last step, we added chalk pastel to the eye.
I really love how each eyes is as individual as the artist making it.

Visited the MA in Fine Arts end of year show at the University of Brighton Gallery / Sallis Benney Theatre a few months ago. I don’t know if this was part of that show but downstairs was a room filled with pairs of balloons tied to sheets of tissue paper. You were free to move around the room while balloons drifted around you. I liked both the exact physics and echoes of Warhol’s factory. I should have noted down the artist and name of installation.
The childrens event was part of the opening for the exhibition on the Hanging Gardens of Babylon in the Gallery, at the Swiss Cottage Library. This Camden Outreach project combines the work of 5 community groups inspired by Camden green spaces and flora decoration. Artist David Allsop. Exhibition March-May 2009
Multilayer day!
I printed the butterflies onto tissue paper using my inkjet and Mod Podged them onto magazine ads. After they were dry, I cut them out and collaged them onto paint chips.
1 & 3 are from Absolut ads and 2 is from a Nokia ad.
Clip art is from etc.usf.edu/clipart/.
