Here is the reticulated (meaning segmented and hinged) tie finding that I used in the tissue collage video, all finished off into a centerpiece. The tie was chocolate ox; I stamped it with StazOn black ink, then did a little embossing powder over, and finished with Nunn Design Sealant. The 'knot' of the tie is tissue collaged; we now have the tissue at bsueboutiques Flower finding on the tie is vintage gingerbread; sometimes we have some on our Etsy outlet store.

Sofia got creative with some tissue paper the other day. I took it as an opportunity to try out my christmas present (a new 50mm lens)

I painted a faux wood grain on the top and sides and then Modge Podged scrapbook paper to the drawers.

Here is my result using my NEW macro photo studio.
Total cost $2.16.
I made this to take some product photos for my FIL's business. It's a work in progress but any suggestions or tips would rock my world!!!
I think I'm going to make some additional "screens" using the box portions I cut out already. That will give me 3 portable screens to further adjust the lighting on the go.

Here's a closeup of page 1 of today (November 28 ,2007) The liquid wax is not quite dry, so I don't want to screw anything up. I wasn't sure if I really liked how I made the wavy lines, but heck, it's just my art journal!!! I'm experimenting and playing with new materials. I think I'm addicted to this liquid wax (Thanks Mum!) Oh yeah, the image is from Dover Publications and I think I'm addicted to it! I colored the woman/fish in with my Lyra watercolor pencils and used a Dover blender pen instead of water. I'm such a dork, I've had that blender pen for about 3 years and have never been brave enough to use it. Sheesh! So glad I'm getting over that!

....is tissue paper! It's already been a fruitful Christmas season for this spoiled girl! Griffin himself has already gotten in on the goods - and although the treats and chew toys are much appreciated nothing seems to please like the opportunity to pounce on tissue paper!
Take a moment for how properly his legs are crossed - hilarious!
This week's challenge was to come up with a creation using mostly the colour white.
The kids had another day off school so we did another craft together for the challenge this week. This time it was tissue paper snow men! (mine is the mostly white one in the middle)
To see how me made them and where we displayed them check out the blog post: blog.tawnybee.com/2013/11/iron-craft-23-snow-day.html
This colorful tablescape was put together using handmade tissue flowers, and coordinating them paper goods.

My wife bought this huge pack of tissue paper with all these amazing colors. Right about now she's wondering what happened to it. I'm not quite ready to give it up.
(gotta reshoot this without the crease)
Our cat got to open his Chrismast presents today. Next year, I'm just buying him a big pile of tissue paper--by far his favorite thing to get!

Another unique faux painting idea for a bathroom except that it's tissue paper and not paint this time. The client was thinking wall paper and I was thinking grass cloth, so we came up with this great look...
The photo quality isn't good, but it shows how the balloon lanterns look when they are lit with a tea light. The girls and I went for a night walk on the Winter Solstice. It was pretty windy and cold, so it was a short walk.
My first attempt at making double tissue paper with methylcellulose. I used two green sheets, one light and one dark. I tried the "start from the top middle and spread out from there" method. My MC was a little runny, but i think it's supposed to be that way, I liked the texture on the paper. Next time I will try to start with the corners of the paper and spread out the tissue paper as much as possible before laying it down. Maybe start with MC on the glass first. I got the paint brush and sheet of glass at Home Depot, the MC from amazon (I spend about $8 for a few ounces; a tad expensive, but if I would have spend $20, i would have gotten a pound of MC which would have been way too much) and the tissue paper I just had lying around. All in all, i think i spend just over $30 for everything I needed to make this first attempt as well as many future attempts.
