Rainster rocks- Timeless craggy and mysterious. Echoes of the past resonate here.
This was my last shot of this stage of my Limestone way exploration,. I had to run for the bus. It was about 5.30pm and the last bus was from Carsington. That meant jogging over the hills above Carsington and running down the steep slopes, dotted with lead mining spoil heaps and ditches. My face was red as a beetroots but I got the bus with 2 minutes to spare!! Otherwise it would have meant walking all the way to Matlock or Wirksworth.

Romainmôtier. Looking at this picture a bit more closely, I see that this café is called "Le Pectinarium" which I think would be Latin for "House of Jelly." And sure enough, I Google the name and that is indeed what it is: www.pectine.com
AAW August - Timeless
The challenge is to capture something that can be titled "timeless"
The more symbolic you get the better.
Restrictions: Not just a scenery - has to include a person
Dare: No dare - I think the restriction is enough.
WIT: Out camping this weekend with family was wonderful. I found that once someone started a fire though, it dew us together. So my idea of "timeless" is people gathered around a fire, like since the beginning of time and fire - to be together, to warm themselves, to be photographed in natural light with only the warm glow of flames to light their faces. A place where stories are told and retold, and memories made.
In post, slight crop and levels. I kept the ISO low, the shutter speed long, focus on the fire and the shadows deep because it's not these specific people who this story is about, rather all people who have gathered in firelight.

The Vasai Fort was established by the Portuguese as the headquarters of their Indian operations in 1534 and centre of their operations until 1739...The Portuguese buildings inside the fort are in ruins, although there are enough standing walls to give a good idea of the floor plans of these structures....was just a timeless beauty for me !
In middle school I always got made fun of for my big hair so I decided to do a picture that exaggerates this feature about me and make it beautiful.

Sometimes I feel that half the reason I love Audrey so much is because she always looked and dressed and carried herself the way I always wanted to, without even realizing it.

The Highlights of a Decade Long Musical Journey
Presented By: The Old Joes Choir
30th and 31st of August 2008 at The British School Auditorium
It has been ten years, and The Old Joes Choir has come a long way, evolving musically, and as an entity that continues to enthral its public. A decade of dabbling, experimenting and extending the boundaries and limits of sound and music has stood in good stead, enabling a group of talented and committed individuals hone and perfect something they were already good at.
It was in 1997 that The Old Joes Choir embarked upon their musical journey; a voyage that has augured well and ushered in positive change, along with a loyal audience, fans of choral music, who have stood by them through the last ten years of evolution. Thus, it is only right that The Old Joes Choir pay tribute to their loyal, unwavering fans, and their decade old journey, through a musical celebration of the last ten years.
You are welcomed to witness a unique event, involving diversity in sound and style, in celebration of a ten year old journey, as The Old Joes Choir embarks upon a voyage of rediscovery; an expedition that will strike at the very core of their musical soul. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be enthralled, as they go back to their roots to present you with our Timeless Echoes.
This beauty was spotted Grand Prix weekend. Thanks to Flicker friend Fredo photo, I now know that this is a Citroën Traction Avant and that about 760,000 units were manufactured from 1934 to 1957.
Here's the original color image.

“In the real early morning
With the sun slowly rising
I was walking out slowly
Wandering free
When out in the distance
Over the valley
I saw an old friend
Waiting for me
Waiting for me
She was a young girl
She was an old soul
As fair as the ocean
Timeless and free”
In The Real Early Morning ~ Jacob Collier
A leatherback turtle nests in the early morning. A true ocean giant, this species is the largest of all the world’s living turtles. The females only come onshore every 2 – 4 years to lay their eggs. Each time they nest they will lay up to 100 eggs, with only 1 in every 1000 hatchlings surviving to adulthood. Decades of conservation efforts have stabilized some nesting populations, but globally their numbers continue to decline. Turtle Beach, Trinidad & Tobago, W.I.
This is a story about one club, in the heart of one market, in the heart of one city.
This is a story about a group of retired men, about dynamics, about backgammon and cards and domino.
This is a story of a timeless game.
At the MahaneYeuda market in Jerusalem, gorups of bored retired men sitting all day long inside of a club. They pay 10 Nis per hour of games. Tea with lemon and black coffee are for free, if you happen to be thirsty.
Between roll of the dice to another, there are stories about the wife, the government, the previous life... It is a kind of a gang. Each and his story, and for 9 hours a day the stories unite.
Each one and his basket, they go around the market, one day it's a fresh red cherry, another day it's a new cooking pot. And at noon, every day, it's the famous Sambusak of Rivka for lunch.
This piece is part of my collection based on LOVE. True love is timeless and unconditional. My goal with these hearts is to design each of them with different techniques, colors and shapes.
Sometimes I have the distinct feeling that we are bound by something that is intrinsically impermanent (I know we are, but I mean actually to feel it): this our mortal world where there is much ugliness that stems from what people do to other people. Otherwise I feel we have a sense of beauty in what is out there beyond our mental grasp and comprehension, something timeless and irresistible, to which we aspire and will eventually revert to, once we are released from our fetters.
