Across the wetlands south of Hinckley I don't imagine the scene to be much different today than it was when the Skally Line was constructed. This timeless territory is a great setting for these classic locomotives. January 19, 2015.
The timeless stainless steel design of the Southern Aurora is on full display as the set sits at Sydney Terminal during a trial run from Thirlmere to Central and return.
A 25 minute exposure taken from an overlook in southwest Virginia with another 3 hours of processing back home. I try not to do a ton of post processing on my pictures anymore, but I couldn't get the look I was going for without it. 3 planes flew through the sky during the shot so I took those out first. Then I did some painfully slow dodge and burning to bring some of the stars out against the background. A few tone curve adjustments brought out the color behind the mountain.

Landmarks of London Series
4 daytime exposures (shutter speeds ranging from 8 seconds to 13) have been stacked to encapsulate the full range of the fountain. Unfortunately the sky wasn't playing ball, as can be seen with the whitewashed background. Will have to reshoot this with a better sky!
An almost timeless portrait of a shepherd and his flock as they walk through the rain alongside one of wonderful tree lined canals that cut through the landscape near Damme, Belgium.
It's rare to see a shepherd here. I managed to make this image of him as he strode along to catch up with his flock after a brief chat with us. Besides the thrill of capturing a rare sight, I really like the strong receding perspective emphasised by the rows of trees on both sides of the canal.
I made this flannel (Timeless Treasures Tailor) quilt for a couple of diehard Aggie fans. It is a reference to the Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from Texas A&M. Gig 'em Aggies!
It has been decades since the Pennsylvania Railroad operated these tracks, but the PRR-style position light signals in Summerhill, Pennsylvania, have a timeless quality about them.
Capturing this image I pondered the number of images this pond had cause to reflect on over its creative existence.

The composition is not entirely balanced, leaning a bit more to the right side, but this was the best i could do without getting into that water (even if that would have made a great shot of me soaked in water...).
I'm really starting to use Black & White on almost everything, and falling more and more in love with it. Is that a good thing?

i love Gabriel Figueroa's (mexican photograph) work and i would say hes's one of the influences on the way i see landscapes.
LKD 229 pauses in the shadows of Redenhall Church, as it retraces the route of former Eastern Counties stage carriage service 11B between Norwich and Diss.
Despite the photograph being taken on Saturday 25th September 2021, there's little (or no) modern street clutter in view.
Hidden Faces of RickThis project is about rickshaw workers in the Dublin at night.
Through my field researchers with rickshaws working at night, I discovered that 85% of rickshaws are Brazilians English students, most of then come from middle classes Also other nationalities such as Venezuelans, Mexicans, but most south Americans between the ages of 18 to 32 with college degree education.
Most of then use rickshaw as a temporary job to support then while studying in Ireland. Irish Immigration over the past eight years has made very difficult for Non-EU citizens to work in Ireland, using measures such as changing the one-year student visa terms.
Most of the bikes today, are electric, although it still quite demanding a physical job. Most of the rickshaws are male with 90% 10% female, due its difficulties to deal with drunk, people mostly man.
Gislaine Pereira, 23, journalist from Sao Paulo, Brazil, has worked as rickshaw over 4 months stated that, most of her clients are male, most of then are polite although she has heard from passengers things like “I will pay only if you kiss me” or “ let’s go upstairs into my apartment then we have a drink and I’ll double pay you”
According to rickshaws, daily, they experience verbal abuses, most of this abuse is migrant related also disrespectful sentences about their level of English, skin colour and social position in society. In some cases even drunk guys touching rickshaw female bodies or saying just because she is Brazilian she must be a floozy.
In some cases of a passenger who do not want to pay off even bringing then to distance places to still their bikes. A typical problem rickshaws have to face every day is, to deal with the so-called “knackers”, which are is not the travellers, a knackers is a person who wears imitation gold, track suits and a petty criminal and acts against people with type of anti-social behavior, mainly young Irish guys between the age of 12 to 30. They are mainly from the poorer and more disenfranchised sectors of Irish society.
Part of this abuse according to rickshaws, comes from Garda at night. When I was taking some pictures at Grafton Street I witnessed Gardaís asking to move around with their bikes using rude and abusive manners, sometimes also polite ones just explaining that they can not be in certain places. Rickshaws claim that, due their student visa work l imitations, tax related issue and English problems to explain then selves. For rickshaws general opinion, Garda don’t respect them most of the time.:
According to Gislaine, most of the taxi drivers do not like then, due the competition to get passengers although a different type of passengers. Rickshaws normally do not travel far like taxis. The problem with taxi drivers, according to rickshaws is most of the time is migrant related.
Rickshaw is a working class with no rights due its lack of formalization by Irish authorities; they don’t pay tax because there is no formal payment established yet. Each rickshaw according to the distance of travel establishes the fees for the journey and the number of passengers with may vary between one and four.
Quite marginalized by society, most of the rickshaws according to Gislaine and other rickshaws claims that most of the people once they know, they are rickshaw they associate then as poor migrant with no college formal education, on the edge of poverty, drugs sellers, using the bikes to sell drugs in the case of women, silence prostitution, with the rickshaw just as an excuse to find clients. These association problems bring to then problems to find accommodation due its lack of formality, the opening of bank accounts or requesting of contract services such as the internet, electricity and any other formal service which requires formal employment proof.
Gislaine is willing to stay I Ireland 2 years in total to improve her English then return to Sao Paulo and continuous her journalist career.
Matheus Pavão, 30, Insurance business manager from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Has worked as rickshaw for almost two years. He stated that he had suffered from racism due his colour. He is Afro-Brazilian descendent. He believes that probably this incident happened not because of his colour but because the offenders though he was African. He has witnessed many racism problems between Africans taxi drivers and passengers.
He stated that, when he describes, that he is Brazilian, most of the passengers don’t care about his colour although the migrant problem still on. According to Matheus, often some passengers ask him, if he had come to Ireland because he must be extremely poor in Brazil or if there still monkeys around where he lives, or why don’t they get a decent job, live the streets cleaner without their presence, that he is stilling Irish jobs. Although Matheus states that many passengers are really polite and decent with him and few ones who ask certain impolite questions, are quite young between the age of 18 to 25 due their lack of knowledge of international news and the main factor is alcohol, he says that most of then are quite drunk when they to rickshaw.
