There are 365 days in a year, 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in a minute. Days go by and years pass. Time never stops - or does it? Could there be such a thing as a timeless moment? A moment when something extraordinary happens, time seems to "stand still" we're never quite the same. The experience is eternally etched on our heart and minds. Moments like these come and go so quickly in life. So fleeting are these experiences that one can only wish to stop the clock and linger for an eternity - or at very least a few more moments. How do we keep these moments alive? Some may document with a photograph or others may write in a diary. An artist will create a painting. Michael Flohr's "Timeless Moment" is just such a moment translated into living color. The old, romantic charm of Market Street in San Francisco sets the scene. Enter a quiet stroll with someone special. Moist from the fog, the street glistens with a magical glow reminiscent of a dream. The stained glass mosaic of color reflecting off the buildings further adds a fantasy-like quality to his recollection. Symbolically, the clock tower stands in the shadow of a street lamp. In the darkness of his memory time has stopped. But in reality, each passing moment breathes another stroke of life into the brush. Specifics of the memory aren't important anymore - for the beauty of the memory has been captured. Flohr has rendered his "Timeless Moment" on canvas and there it will remain. Perhaps what the artist wants to convey is how precious time is and maybe the only thing truly timeless are the timeless moments we hold dear.

There are a few versions for this photo and I like this a lot. Again, I am trying to sneak this one out... lol.. who knows if I have to take it down before everyone knows it.. hah
Before this version, I did another graphic one for this photo and someone said it was horrible. Ah well, I really dun like the feeling of it so I totally transform it to my vision.
I am having this old magazine ad vision for this piece so I decided to go a bit retro for this one. It's simple, yet I don't want to ruin her elegant pose at all.
I really like the out come and the next one (cross my fingers no one is asking me to stop), it will be more of a circus fest. Stay tuned!

Behind this ship was the view of the cloud-covered Mayon Volcano...been raining for 2 consecutive weeks (with cold fronts), with a sudden high pressure that occurred after... this gave a hazy hot summer weather. Current temperature here ranges from 24-30 C.

Timeless
Pripyat is an abandoned city in the zone of alienation in northern Ukraine, near the border with Belarus. It was home to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant workers. The city was abandoned in 1986 following the Chernobyl disaster. Its population had been around 50,000 prior to the accident. It now stands as a timeless - and poignant - reminder of the aftermath of the fallout.
Farewell To Pripyat
by Tim Dennehy
It was a Friday in April 1986,
The day that nightmare began,
When the dust it fell down on our buildings and streets,
And entered our buildings at noon,
Touched the grass and trees, bicycles, cars
Beds, books and picture frames too,
We stood around helpless, confused,
Nobody knew what to do.
At two o'clock on Sunday the buses arrived,
A fleet of a thousand or more,
We were ordered to be on our way,
Not knowing what lay in store ,
Some of our citizens fled in dismay,
And looked for a good place to hide,
When four o'clock came and the last bus pulled out,
T'was the day that our lively town died.
And the shirts, sheets and handkerchiefs crack in the wind,
On the window ledge the withering plants,
And the Ladas and Volgas are parked by the door,
And the bikes in its usual stance.
Our evergreen tree lies withered and drooped,
They've poisoned our fertile land,
The streets speak a deafening silence,
Nothing stirs but the sand.
A visit back home is so eerie today,
A modern Pompei in view,
To see all the old shops and the Forest Hotel,
And the Prom, yet cinema too.
The mementos we gathered all left behind,
Our photos and letters and cards,
The toys of our children untouchable now,
Toy Soldiers left standing on guard.
So fare thee well Pripiyat, my home and my soul,
Your sorrow can know no relief.
A terrifying glimpse of the future you show,
Your children all scattered like geese,
The clothes lines still sways but the owners long gone.
As the nomadic era returns,
The questions in black and white blurred into grey,
The answer is too easy to learn.
Timeless Echoes
The Highlights of a Decade Long Musical Journey
Presented By: The Old Joes Choir
30th and 31st of August 2008 at The British School Auditorium
It has been ten years, and The Old Joes Choir has come a long way, evolving musically, and as an entity that continues to enthral its public. A decade of dabbling, experimenting and extending the boundaries and limits of sound and music has stood in good stead, enabling a group of talented and committed individuals hone and perfect something they were already good at.
It was in 1997 that The Old Joes Choir embarked upon their musical journey; a voyage that has augured well and ushered in positive change, along with a loyal audience, fans of choral music, who have stood by them through the last ten years of evolution. Thus, it is only right that The Old Joes Choir pay tribute to their loyal, unwavering fans, and their decade old journey, through a musical celebration of the last ten years.
You are welcomed to witness a unique event, involving diversity in sound and style, in celebration of a ten year old journey, as The Old Joes Choir embarks upon a voyage of rediscovery; an expedition that will strike at the very core of their musical soul. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be enthralled, as they go back to their roots to present you with our Timeless Echoes.
Time passes by, but the monument to the Celtic Tiger remains.
‘Achill-henge’, a stonehenge-type structure is located on a hilltop on Achill Island, near the village of Keel. The monument was built at the end of November 2011 by property developer Joe McNamara. A native of Achill, he was already ‘famous’ around Ireland for driving a cement mixer into the gates of Leinster House (Irish Government buildings), in protest against politicians who were at 'fault that he couldn't repay the money he borrowed from the banks. Joe is also known locally for a ‘phantom’ shop construction site on Achill Island that has never been finished and has been left for a number of years.
'Achill-Henge' structure was built in record time, over the weekend. 30 articulated trucks arrived from Galway with pre-cast concrete blocks and the basic structure was ready a few hours later. It is composed of a circle, 30 metres in diameter and 30 related columns, each measuring nearly 4.5metres high.
Many locals, tourists and observers have speculated ‘Achill-henge’ would have a similar function to other sites, such as Stonehage or Newgrange, with sunrises during the solstices. The sun would rise and pass through the gaps between the pillars to light up a centerpiece, which has yet to be revealed. Others see it as a statue in memory of the end of the ‘Celtic Tiger’ era.
There is also a lot of controversy around the sculpture. Mayo County Council won a High Court order compelling developer Joe McNamara to demolish the structure, built without planning permission and being carried out on an area of mountain bogland with high scenic value, located near an archaeological site. He appealed this to An Bord Pleanala which in July 2012 upheld the Council's decision.
In contrast, many locals see this project as Ireland’s newest tourist attraction, possibly bringing more visitors to West and to Achill Island. It looks a lot better than a whole lot of over-priced ‘sculptures’ that went up around Ireland over the last ten years. The Mayo News, a local newspaper, carried out a poll showing support for its retention with 80% of the 563 participants wanting the structure to remain.
As the future of 'Achill-Henge' is not looking too good, if you want to see it you need to be quick!

I made this flannel (Timeless Treasures Tailor) quilt for a couple of diehard Aggie fans. It is a little nod to the Heisman Trophy quarterback from Texas A&M. Gig 'em Aggies!
