Photo taken 10 years ago, but view is indistinguishable from today. The large rectangular grave marker with a hipped roof at the top of the hill is inscribed with name of John Boyland Pratt who was born exactly 100 years before I was born. Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Evocative of the old West but still very much a part of today, these magnificent animals awe and inspire us, connecting us to our past while very much a current part of our lives and hearts.
What a great weekend working with a fabulous team of women! The models all looked incredible and with the most alluring eyes. Hair and Makeup beauties Michelle Mink and Steffanie Tulk really tocked it for this one!
Strobist 411: Shot them in a simple beauty style with just a 16" maxi-lite reflector centered above as a beauty dish with elinchrom quadra and a 16" reflector below for a little fill. Used a couple of sb900s behind to camera right and left to light the background. Triggered by skyports and SU4.

Although I think the final result is completely different from what he does, I wanted to challenge myself into taking a plain subject and a plainer background and carve it into something interesting using artificial lighting (flashes)!
In this case, a total of 10 flashes were used!

This is the first time I attempt something in Monochrome, and I think the results can definitely be improved. Yves was an absolutely fantastic model, one of the top that I've worked with. Patient and in absolute control of his face and body.

This woman had the timeless look that one sees in the painting of old, from when the first people showed up on these shores - a beauty that time can no change, passed on from one generation to the next.

🇺🇸 On June 27th, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, a morning of activities took place at Praça CEU Dunas, featuring graffiti and photography workshops, inspiring talks, and cultural and innovation-focused actions aimed at strengthening the neighborhood and creating new opportunities for youth and residents.
The event, called “Innovative Communities,” is an initiative of the State Department of Innovation, Science and Technology, carried out by the Central Única das Favelas of Rio Grande do Sul. The program is part of the inclusion pillar of RS Seguro, in partnership with the Special Department for Digital Inclusion and Support for Equity Policies, and with the support of the City Hall of Pelotas.
