Finally the sky cleared and the Aurora showed up for the first time in 3 months.
The forecast was expecting medium Aurora activity. So out I went, drove to the mountains where there was snowy foreground. The Aurora started to appear, I stopped the car but to my horror I realized I had forgotten my tripod in all the excitement of finally going out and shooting Aurora. I tried to put the camera on a stone, the hood of my car. But the results where terrible.
So I had to go home again, looking at all the beautiful Aurora out of my car window unable to capture in on my camera.
When I had the tripod again I went to the nearest location. No snowy foreground but the results where fine because the light pollution from the nearby city lit up the house and foreground a bit too. So it all ended well
I took this near Straumur Art center. Just a little down the road behind Straumur there are a few old buildings.

This is an older photo I had taken just a few weeks before the Iconic Bird Rock Arch had collapsed in December of 2010 from the winter storms.
I did put in an order for some blazing skies during my trip to Sydney...but that didn't happen. Upon questioning I was told the transaction didn't go through cause my credit card didn't have enough money. :)
Thanks to all of you for your time, comments and favs. Truly appreciated..

As time ages us, we tend to forget the people and places that once held important spots in our hearts. Slow down, take a moment and recall those memories. The smiles on our faces will be priceless and timeless.
The castle of Chambord (France) is certainly one of the most impressive of the Loire Valley - be it for its size or its architecture, with an amazing amount of details imagined by François Ier and Leonard de Vinci.

This was scanned in from a very old b/w neg which I took about 20 years ago, taken on the river Thames at a place called Gravesend in Kent on a very cold and foggy winters morning
Taken November 16th, 2006. (This is new rendering of this image.)
Note: There is a Photoshop tutorial describing how I added the texture to this photograph here.
