I had the opportunity to spend a day recently wandering in and around the house and property that is Kuerner Farm, made famous by Andrew Wyeth. The hill you see in this image is the hill he used to walk over from his studio on the other side to get to Kuerner. I am not prone to being starstruck over famous people - I save being starstruck for real stars, the kind that hang in the sky - but I wish with all my heart that Andrew Wyeth had come walking over that hill that day.
It would have been nice to chat with him.
It's okay, though. I knew he was there anyway.

On a gorgeous fall morning a pair of GP40-2s assigned to West Springfield based local L012 drift west through the controlled siding while the ancient stone sentinal stands proud beside the mainline as it has for nearly two centuries, denoting 83 miles from South Station on the old Boston and Albany Railroad mainline, modern day CSXT's Boston Sub.

Self developed using CineStill Cs41 chemicals, and scanned with my DSLR (Nikon D610 + Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro lens).
A 60+ seconds of long exposure froze the bustling city of London. Good thing is it was a nice sunset and the clouds are moving pretty fast!

Otto Schmidinger is from Queensland, and this beautiful painting of a pastoral scene could come from many corners of this country. Schmidinger has taken a traditional Australian landscape theme and given it a contemporary twist. And I must say I am delighted, as were the many people who thronged around it as well. It is all too easy in the contemporary art environment for people to go with work that pushes boundaries of genre, and has a few ideological axes to grind. So again it is a credit to the judges that this was deemed worthy of a place in the final 42.
Otto is straight to the point with his description too:
"I wanted to show a landscape outside of time. This painting is of one of the timeless scenes that I was captured by when travelling Tasmania. I think many people are attracted by that aura of endless tranquility and love Tasmania for that reason."
