Astronomische Uhr
Die Astronomische Uhr entstand von 1955 bis 1967. Ihre Fassade ist eine vereinfachte Nachbildung der alten Uhr aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, die bei dem Bombenangriff 1942 verbrannte.
In den Jahren 2013/2014 wurde die Astronomische Uhr über einen Zeitraum von acht Monaten saniert. Die Gesamtkosten beliefen sich auf 125.000 €. Finanziert wurde das Projekt durch zahlreiche Spenden von Lübecker Bürgern, Gästen und Geschäftsleuten, sowie einer Förderung durch die Possehlstiftung und die Gemeinnützige Sparkassenstiftung. Zum ersten Mal überhaupt wurde die Astronomische Uhr nach ihrem Bau wieder in ihre Einzelteile zerlegt. Das Uhrwerk hatte Aussetzer und die gesamte Uhr musste gereinigt werden. Eine große Plane mit einem Bild der Uhr versteckte die Baustelle. Das Lübecker Architekturbüro Justus Deecke hatte die Projektleitung, Firma Otto Buer Glocken- und Uhrentechnik aus Neustadt führte die Arbeiten aus.

Escapism it certainly can be. But that is not all. It does not necessarily mean to look the other way. Celebrating beauty and life, and the preservation of both, can also be an act of resistance, of not giving in to the rationality of industrialised death. Not shouting "hurrah", but taking care of life can be an expression of one's alternative approach. Beauty can be subversive, just like the dream of paradise can. Re- edit 2018 , the view from the second floor at Chateau d´Ah, a really,really nice wooden staircase. After it was destroyed by vandals and sprayed with ugly graffittis, it was finally demolished in 2017. Time to remember this lovely spot...
In my case more like time to catch up.

After an overnight snowfall in the city, in the following morning I went to a big garden in the center of my town, with my first reflex camera.
This is one of those photos, kept for many years before digitizing it.
The emulsion of the print and the years have worked on it giving now, an image with vintage tones.
Una mattina, al risveglio dopo una discreta nevicata notturna, raggiunsi il parco Sempione per fare un pò di foto, con la mia prima reflex.
Questa è una di quelle foto, la conservai per anni prima di avere la possibilità di digitalizzarla.
L'emulsione della stampa e gli anni hanno lavorato su di essa in maniera inesorabile, regalandole però un'atmosfera molto particolare dai toni decisamente vintage.

I cannot believe Stetson is now 8 months old. Whew, we have survived puppy stage! Even though he is a teenager now, he is so well behaved, smart and sweet. He is enjoying a very interesting sunrise up at Big Beal Lake. I had to run and get my phone to capture these brilliant colors for so early in the morning.
Sometimes we all just need a little bit of quiet time. Time to relax and just enjoy the simple things.

Memory is all about time travel. 2016 is full of memories but that was my favorite one. A glade in the forest offered me a unique view of the milky way, back in summer, up in the mountain of Parnonas. Lets make 2017 a year full of doing what we love the most.
