Our Chloe dog just turned 8 years recently. Hard to believe.
She doesn't seem to act her age and always seems up for an adventure and having fun.
Dogs are beautiful animals.

Autumn in full bloom in the Adelaide Hill is a magical time. There are pockets of places like this all over the area - sometimes you just need someone to tell you where to look.
That's what one would think by looking at these two photos. In reality the photo on the left was taken at 1:35 PM and the one on the right was taken at 4:34 PM - for three hours nothing, absolutely nothing, changed in owl's posture; only things that changed were my position on the ground and the position of the sun in the sky. Two days earlier a Red morphed Screech Owl was seen together with this Gray morphed one in the same hole - a very unique scene. On this day the red was a no-show and this one didn't even open its eyes to take a glimpse of the misery of the hapless bird watchers. Yes, that's how it goes most of the time. Burlington, Ontario.

Do you go for a real tree or an artificial one? I like the idea of the romance of picking out a real tree and the lovely pine scent wafting through the house. However, once you purchase an artificial tree you realize the pluses - not scratching up your vehicle during transportation, not having to cut the base level at home, not having to string the lights, not having to water it so it doesn't catch on fire, not having to vacuum the fallen dried pine needles and not having to figure out how to dispose of it.
This big fella was relaxing under his human companion's chair at our favorite coffee shop in Carmel, California.

The Chesapeake & Indiana takes 26 loads for Thomaston behind their SOUTHERN-inspired repaint Geep, as they smoke it up for the run up the hill out of Union Mills, IN. For what the Geep gained in looks it lacked in tractive effort although it still made for an amusing chase on a perfect winter day. A big thanks to the birds for the word on this guy..

The temperature is -4C this morning but it is predicted to rise to +10C today. Spring may be here ... or ... it may be another false Spring ... time will tell. This photo was taken in the early evening just prior to sunset last fall. There is still a meter or more of ice on the lake at the time of this posting. :)
