In the hour when mist still owns the pines, the forest holds its breath. Scrub oak burns red against the gauze of morning, each leaf catching fire without flame, while pitch pines rise like sentinels into a sky not yet decided. This is the Pine Barrens in its oldest mood — patient, amber-lit, indifferent to time — a place that has always known how to be beautiful without asking permission.

Thank you for your comments, favourites and for supporting my photography. I wish you a great week filled with things that you love. Take care.

After many years the first time I got this close to a cuckoo

I'm not compatible to many persons at the moment.

Only a very few humans I'm able to connect with in a way that energy flows and it's not otherwise, that's taking all my energy that's left away.

I prefer to be most of the time silent and

yes, alone. To walk alone, that I can leave my mind where it wants to go.

Time that me and woods come into contact with....

It takes a microscopic organism to make us see just how intricately woven our human existence has become. For my husbank and I, it's become a daily struggle now to determine what is essential and non-essential when it comes to completing a task that requires human interaction. Being in the over 60 with a history of respiratory issues group, I have to keep reminding myself (and my husband) that it only takes one interaction.

I feel fortunate to have been brought up by a mother who was/is a very frugal and private person. Shelter in place was a lifestyle we practiced often in our childhood due to frequent household moves or social isolation due to being the preacher's kids.

It's time to start pruning the rasperries and fruit trees, remove debris from garden beds, and soak up some sunshine.

Time Square - The center of New York City is filled with colorful lights and billboards.

A small decaying sunflower lightly dusted with early morning frost. Once so beautiful, turning its head to the sun, but now faded and bowed down!

“Another Time” by Antony Gormley—a life sized standing human figure sculpture installed in Tromsø. Gormley’s “Another Time” casting has been placed in several cities; the one in Tromsø stands near the Clarion Hotel The Edge. The work is as part of a project to bring public art to urban space in Tromsø.

This is the ferryboat Put-In-Bay, operated by Miller Ferry, to transport people and vehicles from the Ohio mainland at Catawba Island in Port Clinton across the waters of Lake Erie to South Bass Island and Middle Bass Island. This image was taken after docking from the return trip from South Bass Island after visiting the South Bass Island Lighthouse.

A shot from last nights trip to the A30 near Exeter to shoot some car light trails, it's been sometime since I last tried this and I forgot how addictive this can be.

This is an old WWII Air Force training base located in Picton ON Canada. Little had changed except for a few buildings that collapsed and tin roofs going on the others. It has been home to a number of small businesses.

It is now known as base 31 (Base31.ca) and is undergoing a major transformation with a museum, eateries, entertainment venues and housing projects.
