A friend and I took my grandson on a hike to a pictograph cave. It's fun to take kids to places like this.

♫ "Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world
And the seven seas,
Everybody's looking for something.
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused.
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world
And the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
Hold your head up
Keep your head up, movin' on
Hold your head up, movin' on
Keep your head up, movin' on
Hold your head up
Keep your head up, movin' on
Hold your head up, movin' on
Keep your head up, movin' on
Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused.
Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree?
I travel…" ♫
A Savannah Sparrow rests and seems to have a little growth just beside beak, it wasn't hindering it from feeding or singing
When ever I see this trunk along the Ocean Beach Esplanade near Gibsons, I am left with a very uncomfortable feeling. It appears to have been there for as long as anyone can remember. It is lodged deep into the stoney beach, and looks out toward the ocean.
When the waves were rolling, and the sky leadened with clouds, I took this shot. There was a distinct white line across the horizon, and the dark clouds seemed to imitated the tossing waves. That is when it struck me, that this trunk was some sort of time traveler. It had both viewed and been a part of this scene, millions of times. And, it would do so long after we are gone. But on this day, it too seemed to have similar pitching lines to that of the ocean, and was part of the scene rather than a viewer.

In the hour when mist still owns the pines, the forest holds its breath. Scrub oak burns red against the gauze of morning, each leaf catching fire without flame, while pitch pines rise like sentinels into a sky not yet decided. This is the Pine Barrens in its oldest mood — patient, amber-lit, indifferent to time — a place that has always known how to be beautiful without asking permission.

As the week wears down and we need to unwind. Some folks go fishing. Some folks use Yoga or they may garden. We need something to get our heads out of the work mode and enjoy activities that interest us, stimulate us and motivate us outside of our jobs.

For those who remember:
"Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's twilight time
Out of the mist your voice is calling, 'tis twilight time
When purple-colored curtains mark the end of day
I'll hear you, my dear, at twilight time ... "

Thank you for your comments, favourites and for supporting my photography. I wish you a great week filled with things that you love. Take care.
It takes a microscopic organism to make us see just how intricately woven our human existence has become. For my husbank and I, it's become a daily struggle now to determine what is essential and non-essential when it comes to completing a task that requires human interaction. Being in the over 60 with a history of respiratory issues group, I have to keep reminding myself (and my husband) that it only takes one interaction.
I feel fortunate to have been brought up by a mother who was/is a very frugal and private person. Shelter in place was a lifestyle we practiced often in our childhood due to frequent household moves or social isolation due to being the preacher's kids.
It's time to start pruning the rasperries and fruit trees, remove debris from garden beds, and soak up some sunshine.
