What a day it turned out to be today. I had initially planned to go for a walk up Ben Wyvis but the forecast put me off sadly. Then it all changed and we got blue skies and sunshine. I decided to go for a wander with Fara and the camera. I hadn't yet used my new NiSi 10 stop ND so with some good waves and moving clouds, it seemed the perfect opportunity. I also decided to go to a location I hadn't really visited before. This is Red Foot just to the east of Bow Fiddle Rock near Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.

Sometimes we all just need a little bit of quiet time. Time to relax and just enjoy the simple things.

Have a wonderful day my dear friends.

I cannot believe Stetson is now 8 months old. Whew, we have survived puppy stage! Even though he is a teenager now, he is so well behaved, smart and sweet. He is enjoying a very interesting sunrise up at Big Beal Lake. I had to run and get my phone to capture these brilliant colors for so early in the morning.

It was great watching the last few surfers decide whether it was worth trying to catch one more wave, or to call it quits and head home. This surfer very reluctantly decided it was time to go.

White cheeked barbet - The white-cheeked barbet (Psilopogon viridis) is a species of barbet found in southern India. It is very similar to the more widespread brown-headed barbet (or large green barbet) (Psilopogon zeylanica) but this species has a distinctive supercilium and a broad white cheek stripe below the eye and is endemic to the forest areas of the Western Ghats and adjoining hills of India.

Memory is all about time travel. 2016 is full of memories but that was my favorite one. A glade in the forest offered me a unique view of the milky way, back in summer, up in the mountain of Parnonas. Lets make 2017 a year full of doing what we love the most.

A friend and I took my grandson on a hike to a pictograph cave. It's fun to take kids to places like this.

Sliding a miniature flower shot … is it really the end of another year? 🤔

Back in the late 1970's Saturday afternoons were a good time to catch some daytime freight on the 'Fitchburg Division'. As seen here AP-3 with D&H run through power is hammering the diamond at West Concord.

"The Apollo" as it was nicked name has a pair of D&H U23B's and a former Reading GP39-2 for power. This job did not always have D&H power but many days it did.

The San Francisco Ferry Building. Designed in 1892, completed in 1898, architect A. Page Brown. The clock tower is 245 ft (75m) tall. The Ferry Building survived the 1906 earthquake and fire although most of this area was destroyed.

When ever I see this trunk along the Ocean Beach Esplanade near Gibsons, I am left with a very uncomfortable feeling. It appears to have been there for as long as anyone can remember. It is lodged deep into the stoney beach, and looks out toward the ocean.

When the waves were rolling, and the sky leadened with clouds, I took this shot. There was a distinct white line across the horizon, and the dark clouds seemed to imitated the tossing waves. That is when it struck me, that this trunk was some sort of time traveler. It had both viewed and been a part of this scene, millions of times. And, it would do so long after we are gone. But on this day, it too seemed to have similar pitching lines to that of the ocean, and was part of the scene rather than a viewer.

♫ "Sweet dreams are made of this

Who am I to disagree?

I travel the world

And the seven seas,

Everybody's looking for something.

Some of them want to use you

Some of them want to get used by you

Some of them want to abuse you

Some of them want to be abused.

Sweet dreams are made of this

Who am I to disagree?

I travel the world

And the seven seas

Everybody's looking for something

Hold your head up

Keep your head up, movin' on

Hold your head up, movin' on

Keep your head up, movin' on

Hold your head up

Keep your head up, movin' on

Hold your head up, movin' on

Keep your head up, movin' on

As the week wears down and we need to unwind. Some folks go fishing. Some folks use Yoga or they may garden. We need something to get our heads out of the work mode and enjoy activities that interest us, stimulate us and motivate us outside of our jobs.
