There was the smell of mushrooms, those days, and the aroma of roasted chestnuts. They were beautiful days, blessed by a light morning haze that cleared away as the morning progressed. Today the days are long and still, but they won't last forever. Those days will return, along with the gentle sirocco wind.

C'era sentore di funghi, in quei giorni, e aroma di caldarroste. Erano giornate bellissime, benedette da una leggera foschia mattutina che si diradava con il trascorrere del mattino. The little burrowing owlet had been resting on the post when suddenly it was time for him to leave. You never know what will happen next so you really have to keep your attention on them at all times. Love them and soon they will be leaving home and beginning a new life on their own. Hopefully we will seen them again next year !!!!

The Dymocks Building, aka 'The Block', was conceived by architect F.H.B. Wilton in the 'Interwar Commercial Palazzo Style'. It was to house the 'less elite' or 'bazaar' style of retailing, with specialty businesses offering a wide range of more unusual goods and services. At street-level it was the home for the bookshop which has developed into the iconic modern Dymocks Bookstore, Sydney's premier bookstore. See:

Developed and color-graded with Darktable 3.6.0. Textures added in Photoshop.
Exhibition/installation by Melbourne artist Rone at the Flinders Street Station in the centre of the city. Spread across multiple rooms in the disused and dilapidated third floor of the old Victorian station, the exhibition has been sold out for every day of its six month run.
Planning for the exhibition and sourcing the multitude of objects on display took Rone and his team three years to complete, and the actual installation a further three months.
