Three Art Muses in Stained-Glass

This was a tough one! I had lots of water drop pictures, but the 'three' part was questionable. So, here it is....Three!

For Macro Monday's Three theme.

I bet you can't guess what these are :-)

High tide at Islandhill and all that's visible are the last three posts of the old diving platform.

Former tuna fishery building on the island of Favignana, one of the Egadi islands off the west coast of Sicily. It is now a museum.

The three large metal pans seen here were used for boiling the tuna steaks prior to canning.

Last night was the third night of Chanukkah.

Three massive granite peaks known as the Three Brothers are shown here reflected in the Merced River, from a location affectionately known as Tahiti Beach in Yosemite Valley. The left-most peak (Eagle Peak) and Middle Brother are lit by the rising Sun, while Lower Brother on the right still remains shaded in this winter shot.

Third shot from Tottenham Court Road tube station in London. Had to hang around while for there to be no people in this busy walkway.

As a thunderstorm passed in the distance I got the camera low on the tripod to use some vegetation as the foreground element. As luck would have it the storm delivered the background. A lighting trigger was used with an exposure set for 6 seconds which generated the slight blur in the bushes due to the windy conditions.

The Three Smiths Statue is a sculpture by Felix Nylund, situated in Helsinki in Three Smiths Square at the intersection of Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie. This realistic statue, unveiled in 1932, depicts three smiths hammering on an anvil. The smiths are naked.

The top part of the bronze statue's granite base is encircled by the Latin text MONUMENTUM – CURAVIT – LEGATUM – J. TALLBERGIANUM – PRO HELSINGFORS A.D. MCMXXXII ("The statue was erected with the help of a donation from J. Tallberg by Pro Helsingfors in the year 1932"). The statue was donated to the city of Helsinki by the Pro Helsingfors foundation, which had acquired it with the help of a monetary donation by the businessman Julius Tallberg. Tallberg's commerce house is situated at the northern end of the three smiths square.

The statue was damaged in a bombing during the Continuation War in 1944. Marks of the damage can still be seen in the base of the statue, and the anvil has a hole caused by a bomb shrapnel.

The Three Smiths Statue is a popular meeting place, the Green League has often located their election campaign quarters next to it and a Peruvian street music orchestra has performed in the area on many summers.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Shot this handheld during a recent visit to Harris Neck Nature Preserve in Georgia. It was midday but I thought it was an interesting clump of tree stumps with different animals claiming their space.

A little after this shot a rather big alligator came from the left under a tree hanging over the water that later revealed 5 of her babies on the bank. I did capture a shot of them as well.

Three years ago I ran west to Bergen to stand in this cornfield for a hour waiting on what at the time was just "another K train with ICE/DME/CP EMDs". I was bummed about the high sun and mixed paint jobs.

Seen at the Guggenheim Museum.

The one on top is the second part of one I read before. from the same author. Just as good.

(I'm already half way through the next three books, but the one I'm on is a bit boring so far so will take longer to read)

100x the 2018 Edition - square

My main reason for visiting this area, which included Kruger National Park, was to see the Three Rondavels on the Panorama Route. We were lucky to have a lovely afternoon view of it as the next day all the mountains were covered in cloud.
