This girlie kept me on my toes. I ended up with lots of great shots - many in action - but I was exhausted!
As far as i'm aware this is one of the latest RMZ City Juniors castings and only now enters my collection thanks to a nine vehicle set found at a Juguettos toy store in Sitges. A fully licensed casting of the McLaren 600LT stylish in appearance and proportions plus glossily finished in metallic blue. Its Juniors budget status ensures no interior but those kinds of deletions are also common at Maisto and increasingly so at Matchbox.

Small upload for today, only 225 flicks. Down from the close to 300 I shot, but you really didn't want to see those bad ones. :-p
So last weekend was supposed to be my catch up on work weekend and that was pushed to go out and bench for half a day. I did get some work done, but not as much as if I'd stayed home. Duh! So I thought this weekend would be all weekend, work on catching up. Ended up getting out of the house for a bit, and as always, I bring a camera. Oh look, there's a train coming!!! Pull over, get my flicks. Oh, there's another one. Next thing you know I'm meeting up with a friend, and it was a couple hours before I actually made it to the place I was originally heading out TO..
Of course, then on the way back, I see a train parked, but no place to pull over, so I head up the road to wait for it to roll past me. I wait, I wait, and while I waited, another couple trains! YES!! That one train never moved over the course of 4 hours or so. Sat on the track with the top light on, but wouldn't budge. Oh well. There's always another one coming down the tracks.
Tons of stackers this time, sorry, I get what I can get when I can get it. There's still a bunch of really cool pieces in this batch. People making the best of the space that's there.
I sometimes feel like I'll go out and come back with basically nothing to show for it. I'm constantly amazed at the cool pieces I catch. A lot of times I know some of the major things I "got" but it's not until I get home and start going through the photos that I find out what I actually "got". The trains sometimes move so fast I'm not always sure. I always find five or six awesome pieces from the day that made the whole trip worthwhile.
To all of my fellow benchers, writers, railfans, etc... Stay safe out there! Watch your back. Lots of shady people out there. Be good to each other, we're all part of this.

For those of you who have no idea of anything equine this image is an education...
of the 500 or so I took at a dressage competition in Westerham, this is one of my personal faves and the rider (My wife!) hates it!!!
This will be reflected in the thoughts of those who do know a little of Horsey matters and especially those into dressage in particular. Horse riding in any form is a team sport and this is key to capturing the sport successfully I think... this image is an example of that, in order to make an image that will 'sell' the Horse needs to be looking well groomed and happy, on the right 'leg' with ears forward and the riders hands and body position must be correct! Here the rider thought she was on the wrong 'leg' and I've captured the change.... if only this was part of the routine I'd have been overjoyed as capturing a flying change in dressage is not easy but here it is actually a mistake! Therefore none of the requirements for a 'good dressage' image have been met! You get that a lot in Horse photography :-)
Show jumping and eventing are both exciting and relatively easy to capture but dressage is definitely not exciting and it's difficult to anticipate the 'moves' unless you do it yourself and I don't! :-)
Tina & 'Major William' went on to win this event with a score of 73.5%, I have no clue as to whether that's a god score or not but the wife is over-the-moon with it, she hadn't ridden in a month!
Sorry about the glare and shadows, but I thought those interested in the above property would enjoy a glimpse inside of the house.
To those of us who love Longshaw and the rest of Sheffield's beautiful green frame, Network Rail's proposals to turn the Surprise into a works area and cut down some of its ancient woodland is an outrage. My wife walked the site with me on Sunday - all she said is "They can't do this".

Red line shows part of the proposed workings - new rail loop, service roads - presumably to cart away the ancient old Oaks, Sweet Chestnuts, Beeches and Birches of Rough Wood by the railway.
Sheffield Sorby's Derek Whiteley emailed me on March 11:
"I visited Rough Wood yesterday (for the first time) and agree with you that it is a first class ancient woodland. I will be doing all I can to help by liaising through the National Trust and the Peak Park Ecology Team which is very much on the case".
