I must apologise to anyone from TT whose pictures are on their blogs - I can't comment, doesn't matter what I try I just get sent repeatedly to the sign in page, I sign in, go back, click comment and back I go to the sign in page again. It's really frustrating as I'd love to be commenting on a lot of the TT images.

Grand Central Terminal is a place I could spend the whole day in. The architecture, old beauty and buzz in the air are a photographer's dream.

Indigenous people soaked the bark of the Umbrella Bush Wattle (Acacia ligulata) in water or boiled it and the decoction was used as a cough medicine for sore throats and a remedy for dizziness and nerves/anxiety. People in the Western Australian region would also char the shrub and mix the ash ash with a native tobacco (Pituri) for chewing to relieve sore gums.

7 Days of Shooting – Week beginning 16th December Remedies: medical or natural. What do you turn to to feel better/stay healthy? Photograph anything from a cough bottle to a herb.

These were very popular in the 1960's. This one was made by my MIL back then and concealed the spare toilet roll for many years. We rescued it from the house when we finalised the estate.

When I was little my family used to go to Disneyland once every other year. So it was a special treat. My sisters and I would always try to be the first to spot the Matterhorn because that meant we were almost there. The wire stretching from the top of the mountain ends at the castle. In the 1960's Tinker Bell used to fly at night along that wire.

7 Days of Shooting/Week #14/Childhood Memory/Texture Tuesday

As a child, I was often to be found with, as my mother have would put it, my nose in a book. I would become so engrossed that I failed to hear that I was being told to set the table or dry the dishes or get ready for bed.

Little Women was a great favourite. I really identified with Jo and indeed played her in an am dram stage adaptation when I was about fifteen.

This copy, a bit battered and worn now, was given to me by my Dad and I can still remember sitting at the kitchen table reading and enjoying it for the first time.

My maternal grandmother was Ukranian and she loved her garlic. She passed when I was still quite young, but the memories of the 'smell' of her house will never leave me. On a weekend away a few years ago we went to a restaurant we'd heard was quite good in a little village near where we were staying. The moment we walked in the door I was transported back through the years to the days of walking into my Gradma's house. The smell was there - it was intoxicating. Over time the smell had permeated everything - i think even the wallpaper in that little restaurant. Unfortunately the year after we were there it burnt down. As for my grandmother she ate garlic with everything - and most often raw. While I like it raw, I can only enjoy a little that way. Baked, broiled, bbq'd and in most things I cook.

for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday -- softly textured with her "Not to Shabby" texture. I'm grateful for a nice warm house and a cup of delicious hot chocolate on this chilly, grey, November day.

May not be the Eiffel Tower but these Norfolk Island pines are a feature of coastal town, Port Macquarie. They are everywhere along the coast, throughout the city area and many appear to be more than a century old. Most of the Norfolk Island pines are around 5-7 storey's tall.

There are both flat areas & significant hills in the city section so you often find yourself looking up to see a towering Eucalyptus, palms and Norfolk Island pines on the hillsides. All this was very softening to the environment.

7 Days of Shooting Week 13 (w/b 1st October) Pointed: For this week, show us your photos of anything with a point - e.g. pins, forks, the Eiffel Tower...

The effect of the frost on the web on the mirror of my car, yesterday morning. It was beautiful, but within 10 minutes of me starting up my engine and driving off, there were just a few strand left. The poor spider created a piece of art and I destroyed it:-(.
