Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look at my photo and make a comment or leave a fave. Your thoughts are much appreciated.
I think of food, water and shelter as basic human rights. If I could have one wish for Christmas it would be that there was no hunger anywhere. I thought my snack this evening made for nice image of texture. 7 Days of shooting theme this week is All I want for Xmas. Texture Tuesday.
This is the photo I submitted for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday. I used her free texture Mayzee. I also added a distress and marbling look using my paint brush tools.
for 7DoS: I had a shot lined up for today, that I took while walking on the beach. As I took it and for ages after, I had a song in my head. Sadly, I have no idea what that was now ... duh! So you get Bicycle race - Queen instead. I hope I can remember that song by the end of the week (O.o)
This "wind sock" has been hanging in our garden for several months and it came all the way from Japan. I understand it is called a Koinobori (carp streamer) and surprisingly the strong winds we had through the end of last year, didn't bother it!!

This wonderful little girl has been visiting with us for the last 12 days. She's almost always happy (except for food and sleep times) and full of life. I finally took a decent portrait of her today. Processed using textures for Texture Tuesday.

Used the WarmSun texture by Kim Klassen. This was taken back in January on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. I am just starting to play with textures. Can't wait to see what I come up with.
If only ... they made these in my size. It would be fun to wear them to the office, or even the grocery store.

The above photo of this schoolhouse was taken in Hettie, WV, April 2011. I processed it for Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday using her texture called Jay.
My father attended this one room schoolhouse and the photo below shows him with his class in 1930 (in the circle).

A star is a white spot on a horse's forehead, between the eyes. A faint star may only appear as a few white hairs, or the star can be large enough it covers the whole forehead area. Stars can be very symmetrical in shape, like spots or diamonds, or they may appear as irregular splotches. Some stars extend down bridge of the nose without connecting to any other facial markings.

A fading sunflower shot during a trip to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens with some friends last Thursday. This week's Texture Tuesday challenge was to use at least 1 layer of the Golden texture by Kim Klassen. I used 2 layers of Golden on this image.

If you show us your books or ornaments on a shelf, remember to include at least part of the shelf in your photo.

There are miles and miles of old shelterbelts of caragana out here on the prairies. Not your typical garden ornamental but quite nice if you get up close and personal...
For Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday.
I used a couple of layers of Kim's Golden texture.
For Texture Tues I used Kim's free texture Ugg Love and using various PSE blending modes, I came up with SO many versions of this image. It's a blend of a gazing ball in my yard and a mixed media piece I made and Kim's texture.
