That's what my wife and I were doing "all day" today - and we had the most beautiful sunny day, just like being back in Florida!!

Of course, these are not my own gardening gloves!!

There are miles and miles of old shelterbelts of caragana out here on the prairies. Not your typical garden ornamental but quite nice if you get up close and personal...

For Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday.

I used a couple of layers of Kim's Golden texture.

This was my 15 yr old's breakfast yesterday. He thinks he's grown up enough for coffee and he's always been a terrible milk drinker. We compromised with a full milk coffee (Nescafe instant) with sugar of course.

Today, he had homemade hash browns and scrambled egg (and chocolate pancakes on Sunday). Oh to be young again! :)

...waiting outside the house to be picked up...how much fresher can you get?

7 Days of Shooting - Week 16 (w/b 22nd October) Shelf/shelves: either a single shelf, or a set of shelves - do you have interesting shelves at home to share with us, or will you visit a library? If you show us your books or ornaments on a shelf, remember to include at least part of the shelf in your photo.

Hedge cutting in the garden this week proved to be more problematical than usual when my husband cut through the electric lead and proceedings came to an abrupt halt!

Early this morning on the front verandah in Queensland.

ODC The early bird gets the worm... Angus definitely has this philosophy, he is usually the first one up and about in the morning, alert and keen to see what is on offer :-)

This little dog goes most places with me on a daily basis. He's part of my handbag. His nose and ears are a bit the worse for wear, but he never complains!

Grand Central Terminal is a place I could spend the whole day in. The architecture, old beauty and buzz in the air are a photographer's dream.

Texture Tuesday using Kim Klassen's "Framed" texture.

Textures used were Plaster, Nature's Beauty and Autumn Burst all by Kim Klassen. Each had various blends and adjustments.

These were very popular in the 1960's. This one was made by my MIL back then and concealed the spare toilet roll for many years. We rescued it from the house when we finalised the estate.

7 Days of Shooting/Week #14/Childhood Memory/Texture Tuesday

As a child, I was often to be found with, as my mother have would put it, my nose in a book. I would become so engrossed that I failed to hear that I was being told to set the table or dry the dishes or get ready for bed.

Little Women was a great favourite. I really identified with Jo and indeed played her in an am dram stage adaptation when I was about fifteen.

This copy, a bit battered and worn now, was given to me by my Dad and I can still remember sitting at the kitchen table reading and enjoying it for the first time.

For six word story.
