For six word story.

"7 Days of Shooting" "Week #14” “Childhood Memory" "Texture Tuesday" As I have said before, I have happy memories of many beaches around the world, and my love of beaches started early! I love this snapshot taken at the beach in Pines Lake, New Jersey. From the left ~ Barbara Ann, as I was then called, Cousin Betty, Cousin Eleanor. Their grandmothers and mine were sisters.

my friends! You make my day every day!

for 7DoS: Kevin jumped into the hood of my coat for a short trip into the village today. It was sunny but it wasn't warm - I think Kevin made a wise move ;)

Gave this strawflower a hue adjustment for the background to make the orange stand out a bit more. Thanks kimklassen for the textures. Used the "crackerjack" texture & the les fleurs

More little hearts, wow!!

I've been playing with available light. Hydrangea's bring a sense of nostalgia to me. Like steeping tea in the sun on a hot summers day, freshly washed laundry hung on the line floating in the breeze and laying on an old gray blanket on lush green grass, counting the cloud animals.

All summer long we sang a song of hopes & dreams to come.

Dreams are the seeds of change. Nothing ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream. ~Debby Boone

Week #46 (w/b 24 May) Library Days and/or Books - Most everyone loves a good book whether that be a rip roaring thriller or a love story whatever the genre we all enjoy to sit back and read (when we can). Do you select your books from the library or purchase them or download them? Nowadays, we have many varied ways of getting a hold of that book which must be read. So, let’s see some wonderful photos depicting people reading their book/e-reader or images of books/e-reader in a variety of places - have fun!

Close-up of a hawser, the rope for mooring a ship.

Loved the colour of the hull, looks even beter because of the blending modes of the textures.

Textures used": kk_appreciate at linear burn and kk_cecile at darker colour.

Picotee is my favorite amaryllis, partly because of the delicate red edges on the petals and partly because of the fabulous texture.

"Come to the woods, for here is rest.

There is no repose like that of the green deep woods.

Here grow the wallflower and the violet.

The squirrel will come and sit upon your knee,

the logcock will wake you in the morning.

Sleep in forgetfulness of all ill.

Of all the upness accessible to mortals,

there is no upness comparable to the mountains."

Texture Tuesday - Texture in photography emphasizes features and details, so the detail in the surface of the object(s) you are photographing should be the most important feature of the image.

Week #13 (w/b 4 October) Lines - Straight lines, curved lines and broken lines! Wherever, we can find lines and they are all about us they will add great depth to our photos. Lines can converge as they disappear into the distance creating a great perspective. Just be careful on those railway tracks!!

Oh boy, just waiting for these beauties to finish ripening.

odc - LIKE SUNDAY Some activities and rituals might be reserved for Sunday. Do you go to church on that day, take some extra time to relax and read the paper, maybe recover from Saturday night? Make an image that shows what your Sunday is like and...have fun!

I usually just hang around catching some morning sun.

Week #14 (w/b 11 October) Childhood Memory - Now, this might just age us!! Can you recall those hazy days of your childhood remembering those wonderful and fond memories. Ice cream and chocolate (nothing changed there then) those little bedtime comforters and stories. Let’s see how many wonderful memories we can portray through our photos, this week!

Another reason to be lying on/in the grass - lying there wishing for the mulberries to rippen

With the beginning of Spring and it will soon be Summer, here in QLD the days are heating up already. My beach towel and sunnies are all ready.

for 7DoS: I bought these Dark chocolate ginger cookies when I last visited my sis, in April.

I have resisted opening them until now ... I fear they won't be around much longer

PeeGee Hydrageas in a Victorian Pitcher using Kim Klassen's "kk_dollard-softandgentle" texture.

A friend brought me this Jizo from Japan years ago, and it has been on my desk ever since.

I have read that "Jizo is the embodiment of the Bodhisattva Vow, the aspiration to save all beings from suffering. He is the protector of women, children, and travelers in the six realms of existence. In India he is known as Ksitigarbha, in China as Dizang, in Korea as Jijang Bosal, and in Japan as Jizo Bosatsu." "The aspiration to save all beings from suffering" is as good as it gets for holiday wishes.

for 7DoS: this one is a bit of a cheat, as these trolleys aren't outside a grocery store. This well known Swedish chain does also sell food, so hopefully it's not too much of a cheat ;)

A bit of geometry and as close as I wanted to get to a dirty trolley wheel, to make up for missing the beginning of the week :)
