I used two of Kim's textures on this image. One layer of "Just Stitched" (which inspired my title lol) on Soft Light at 100%; one layer of "Stained Linen" on Soft Light at 91%, and a -75 Saturation...

Maybe I'm spending too much time on the computer but the shadows remind me of Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Past! :)

For six word story.

I shot these lovely little purple flowers in the garden the other day and felt this one needed a little texture treatment.

I have a collection of shells, I love how they make me think of the sea and the smells and sounds you hear when walking on a beach.

The pipe fragments are of very old stone pipes, I found them while working in the garden, no idea why I found so many in that spot. It was in a small village in the north of Holland.

Did some work in LR and in PSE I did some more and I added textures: kk_0101, kk_100 and kk_lookup, all by Kim Klassen.

Days of Shooting – Week 10 (w/b 10th September) Roof(s): We all live under a roof but this week we are going to be tasked to take photographs of a roof or roofs, your own, someone else’s roof or a local business roof. Now, if you are having to climb up on a ladder please be careful or you may catch some roofs from crossing a bridge …. macro might sound difficult but we will allow bird houses or a little doll’s house or the dog kennel ~ let’s see what we can find!

Kind of struggled with today's textures but hopefully this works!!

ODC: THERE'S A CHANGE IN THE WEATHER COMING

A lovely plant with stunning formation and color. I have been trying to get a decent photo of it for some time. The pink color is so vibrant, it almost glows. Truly Heavenly!

Our Daily Challenge ... new and improved.

I went shopping yesterday after my rehab session to buy some stretch bands to use for exercising at home. This turquoise throw rug caught my eye as I walked past so I made an impulse purchase. The evenings are beginning to get cool and I recently got out my old fleecy throw rug but this one is much nicer. It has a lovely soft 'nubbly' texture and the colour works well in the room.

It's Texture Tuesday: The Orange eDition. I've been away for a while. We had some beautiful flowers for a church banquet the other night and I brought some home. I have also been playing with my Lensbaby the last week or so - still trying to get the focus just right. Anyway, this week's challenge was orange.

for 7DoS: a metal plaque along the sea front. I'm no expert, but I think the erosion could be claiming more along this part of the coast, in the not too distant future!

Is this a sweet face or what?? I am back from my trip to an orphanage in Haiti. It's called God's Littlest Angels (www.glahaiti.org). All of the kids are so well cared for and very outgoing! Each one stole my heart. I will be posting more about my trip on the Faith page of my blog as I have time. 7DOS Week #42: Typography

Carrie Furnace Photo Outing: Towering 92 feet over the Monongahela River, constructed of 2.5" thick steel plate and lined with refractory brick, Carrie Furnaces 6 and 7 are extremely rare examples of pre World War II iron-making technology. Since the collapse of the region's steel industry in the 1970s and 1980s, these are the only non-operative blast furnaces in the Pittsburgh District to remain standing.

No indeed....they are antique French opera glasses (circa 1901). I wish I knew more about their history. I found them a few years back in a flea market. I can imagine the elegant women who used them. It's a shame I did not have a pair of long white gloves for the shot. :(
