for 7DoS: I've seen some great ideas for this theme in the 7DoS pool and as soon as I've finished my painting task, I hope to take a few shots ... might even get outside with my camera!
Meanwhile, here is my grubby looking penguin family, playing in the tiny bit of snow we had at the beginning of this month.
for 7DoS: an energy source much used in my house, especially now that it's getting colder. Piped to our houses it's mostly unseen - but there are places where it can be accessed by those who need to :) I was stuck with an idea for texture until I spotted this shot on my phone. No idea why I took it, but I'm glad I did now
Happy Texture Tuesday using Kim Klassen's new texture called "Aurora". This older photo was taken in October 2009 when I was a 4-month old puppy, and so much lighter then, with hardly of fleck gold yet.
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~ Melody Beattie

This photo is from yesteryear, and it also has one layer of Kim Klassen's texture called 'Yesteryear' especially for her Texture Tuesday challenge today. Some of you will recognize who the little white sleeping beauty is with her big wide eyes open! Yes, that is Miss Penny. This photo was taken during our winter holiday in 2009. We went together to see the snow for the first time in our lives as pups at Lake Almanor. It was one of the best vacations we two girls could ask for! We got lots and lots of snow to play in, and we had a warm fireplace to snuggle up cozy together and stay warm. Penny is still in our thoughts, and so very missed. She's doing well, getting along happily with the cat and coming upon her second birthday year too.

Our grocer has a nice section of flowers. Kipp has to wait patiently as I make sure they are all in the buckets of water (people take them out and never put them back in the water). My husband tells me they should pay me for keeping their flowers alive:)
I am grateful for your following, visits, and comments. And the next time you see flowers out of their water bucket, put them back in :)

Built in 1907, the furnaces produced iron for the Homestead Works from 1907 to 1978. During the 1920s, 1930s,and 1940s, Carrie 6 and 7 consumed approximately four tons of raw materials comprised of iron ore, coke, and limestone for every ton of iron produced. The cooling system for the blast furnace required over five million gallons of water a day. These furnaces reached their peak production in the 1950s and 1960s when they were producing 1000 -1250 tons of iron a day. Carrie Furnaces 6 and 7 were designated as National Historic Landmarks in 2006.

For Texture-Tuesday!
I used a Lensbaby @ f2.8 and tried to focus on the little pink flowers. Then added Jill Ferry's Waxworks texture on overlay.
Thank you for your favs and comments. Please know I am decreasing my time on social media so unless you ask a question, I will no longer comment on your comment.

Found in a long abandoned farmhouse in northern Illinois. The pipe is actually a cologne decanter as well. This is in the house with the Reader's Digest, and features all kinds of artifacts from the '70s...
