Not much to say that hasn't already been said, just some cool pearly test parts.
If anyone wants to swap colors, let me know.
I'll have more in depth comparison photos uploaded to TQE in the coming days.
Well a few days ago I bought my first speedlite. Yesterday I went to the woods for testing out the speedlite and learning how to use it.
This is one of the first shots.. Originally I bought it for portrait photography, to replace my Ikea lamp used for portrait pictures, but as I don't have models walking in and out of my house..
So, I liked the lightning and the midnight feel.. It was taken in bright sunlight.
I'll hope you like it to as this isn't a typical photo of me :)
PP: I cropped it a little bit an added a little touch of contrast.. So as good as OOC.

Here is the new v2 of the camo test! Upper body is the same on the right fig, but the legs have been re-decaled to suck less. The new sniper fig I just made today. I plan to add some tactical gear on both of these guys to finish them off.
Leave a comment telling me what you guys think :)
A small test piece I created to test the slat deployment mechanism. The challenge was translating push-pull spanwise motion to chordwise motion. The solution was creating spanwise stip that pushes thin strips of paper along a curved (90º) paper track. The resulting mechanism makes for incredibly precise and synchronized motions across multiple slat tracks at the same time (=SUCCESS!)

With the recent arrival of the first New Intercity Fleet (NIF) D sets, initial testing has now begun. SSR’s 44206 has been employed to haul NIF set D102 out to western Sydney for one of its nighttime testing sessions. The train is seen awaiting at Central just prior to its departure for the testing zone.
This was a test build for a gearbox designed to replicate a realistic punching (or more accurately, swinging) motion. It's basically the child of the classic gear function and the bashing function. My only regret is that it leaves an unsightly gap on the sides, but I think it would look much better on the new SW torso.

Plum time. The first of a few more. This one is just to test the texture and colours a bit. I'm sure the next plums will look a bit better. They are still a lot of fun to draw.

I was reserving my last roll of Agfa RSX II (of course, outdated) to use it with the hassy. The new lens seems to be working fine.

ere are all of my hybrid tests from last night. ♥
Got the OE head off easily, since it sits on a double sided ball joint peg. The other heads are sticky-tacked, since I couldn’t work out anything else at the moment to hold them all on. Obviously some heads will need the neck hole widened so they sit lower.
I dig the owl one and the rabbit after all, but their necks would need to be modded. Easy fix~
The cyclops one was much cuter than I thought! Other Yosd sized heads (or 6-7 wig size heads) would probably fit well with this body, proportionately.)
My idea for getting the bjd heads to stay on seems strange, but it might work. The body’s neck has basically like a cup, that the ball joint sits in. So I thought maybe I could drill a hole in the bottom of the cup, and force down a knotted loop of elastic (glue it down in there maybe too?), that I could string through the head then s-hook that shit.
(also as a side note/bummer, when I removed the DD Alaqua head, her neck peg shoved inside her head, and now I can’t get it out, or the head back on. :/ Guess she’s due for a body upgrade sooner than I anticipated. WHOOPS!)
I recently acquired a FED 2 with the collapsible FED 50mm f/3.5. Everything seems to be working smoothly.

Testing new Samyang 14mm/2.8 ED IF UMC.
Package came in just this morning.
I just took few shots with it and I can tell you one thing - this lens is craaaazy ;)
Worth every penny.
EDIT: One thing I noticed about this lens - its very hard to focus when you have a standard focusing screen (5d) - Live View comes in handy.
If you have a canon camera maybe its a good idea to buy Samyang with Nikon mount with focus confirmation and use an adapter.
My first attempt at creating a walk cycle!
Agora vai! meu primeiro teste de walk cycle!!! Ta meio batido, mas acho que ta passando a sensação de stopmotion que eu queria...

Another foundling rescued for peanuts (100 yen) on the junky market. The intention was that of cleaning and selling it not being particularly fond of primes with focal lengths superior to 105mm. But - ‘surprise-surprise’ - I really enjoyed shooting it during the test and the ‘intimacy’ with the subject it gives to my photographic style (I don’t like getting too close usually). So I decided to keeping it.
It was produced in a modest number of copies over a short span, between 1965 and 1967, in three versions that goes by the labelling of ‘early model’, ‘model II’ and a third one ‘smc model’ and this one is the first of them. It has 5 elements in 4 groups (the followings have 5 separate elements in 5 groups). The back face of the aperture control switch is blank (the next version is said to have the number 43741 inscribed on it). A wider space between f=5.6 and f=4 on the aperture ring gives room for an extra half-stop compared to the next model. It has six blades and an aperture going from 4 to 22. Min. focus distance is 180 cm.
The lens offers the classic Takumar solid build quality and feel we have come to know from this series. The focus movement is truly silky and smooth, and the image quality is excellent. The lens is very very sharp wide open at f4 and it changes into razor mode as you move onward. The bokeh is not as creamy as a say the 85mm, but is extremely pleasant, with evanescent lines and small cat-eyes popping up from time to time. CA is very contained, and it really is a no-brainer, compared to other contemporary models. It also yields the classic color rendering canvas of SMC glass, with a gentle contrast and intensity of colors.
If I have to really go finding something negative abut it, I would say the slight magenta color cast the glass composition and coating gives to images sometimes. The lens is also not that large, but physically not inconspicuous either: with a hood you get a visible stick protruding from your camera, which not many street photographers may like to swing around. But that is what it is. Take it or leave it.
The DATS (Data Acquisition & Testing Services) OLE test train for the MML has recently had an upgrade - rather than using ROG 47s or 57s sandwiching its 2 ex-LNER 91s (91122 & 91128 "INTERCITY 50") and 8 Mk3a coaches, it now uses ex-EMR 43s 43054 & 43066 for propulsion.
I don't think a formation like this has been seen since BR did tests for an HST-E!
With calibration now ongoing for the train's onboard computer systems, 43066 & 43054 (trailing) scream northwards past Marholm on 3Q23, the 1146 test run from Peterborough Eastfield Junction to Doncaster. Note that the pantographs on 91128 & 91122 are raised for data collection...
