Students get involved with the final challenge of the day, during an athletics camp at imjin barrcaks.
Headquarters, Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC) hosted an athletic camp for local gifted and talented youth at Imjin Barracks on 1 May.
The event, organized and run by Gloucestershire’s Hartpury College, saw close to 100 athletic teens from area secondary schools come to Imjin Barracks to compete in both single and group challenges, several of them with a military theme.
The camp’s events will be directed by both Hartpury third-year students as well as ARRC personnel assigned to the ARRC Support Battalion.
Pioneered by Hartpury HE Sport department’s Dean Clark, the camp is the college’s attempt to re-energize the UK’s Young, Gifted, and Talented Programme in the Gloucestershire area.
The Young, Gifted & Talented Programme is a UK government scheme that aims to enhance the educational development of students between the ages of 4 and 19. The scheme was established in 2002. Within the scheme, a young and gifted individual is defined as: "...children and young people with one or more abilities developed to a level significantly ahead of their year group (or with the potential to develop those abilities)”
Adam was born to a multi-talented beauty queen Mother and a Father who, in addition to being a US Army Spy and a Counter-Intelligence Special Agent, was also a highly accomplished entrepreneur. Adam was taught at a young age that, in both life and business, loyalty is a requirement for success. He’s had the honor of working directly with his father in several of the family businesses. super excited to be featured amongst such talented artists in a lovely 11 page piece in computers arts magazine this month. the article: Illustration - Today and Tomorrow - looks at "how leading artists are climbing to new heights"
in this spread you can see both, 'love always', and 'lou lou, well done', pieces on top left hand corner of the second page.
"jo 'miss led' henly is another illustrator whose work is making people take notice. she's not only dabbling in the uk art scene - she's used it to launch her career. after falling into teaching art, she realised she was inspiring others to do what she was frightened of doing herself. subsequent work invovled online and offline exhibitions closer in concept than illustration work. everything was self-initiated. this gave her the confidence to keep pushing boundaries, thereby increasing the creativity and experimentation in her work. inspired by poster pop, pre-raphaelite portraits, graffiti and art nouveau, her free flowing, almost classic illustration style came about on its own. she is now regularly taking on editioral work as well as further opportunities in the art space.
when secretwars wars took their live drawing competition to the designersblock festival in london last september, henly emerged the winner. she says, "being the only female ever to enter was enough for me, but after three exhausting hours over a 20x8-foot wall space, four rounds and four stories , i was victorious!"

The event took place on Thursday 26 June. It proved to be both an entertaining and informative evening. For many of our pupils who prepared and delivered presentations, speaking to a large group of people was a new experience.
The competition winners were the Religious Education Faculty, whose great life was Jackie Pullinger - a British missionary who went to Hong Kong and worked in the Kowloon Walled City. Her work has resulted in at least 500 drug addicts being saved from their drug addictions.

He was hand-picked by the President of the University’s renowned School of Business to compete with dozens of other ambitious nationwide-graduates for the opportunity to secure a lucrative job within a prestigious Fortune 100 company.
Adam‘s hard work and creativity helped him land this job of a lifetime. He obtained incredible business experience there and spent years innovating, improving processes and setting sales records. Although this dream job in Traditional Corporate America was a fun challenge for him, and something he truly enjoyed mastering, Adam’s natural entrepreneurial spirit kept nudging him to do something more significant with his time and talents.
Since 2001, Adam has been involved in the Health and Wellness Industry as a successful Entrepreneur, Broker, Product Developer and Manufacturer of Cosmeceutical products. During his career, he has worked with some of the most recognizable Fortune 500 businesses along with many top international Network Marketing companies. Adam has consistently proven his unique ability to help his clients achieve their goals through creative Distribution-Channel Placement, innovative Product Development and custom Manufacturing. Adam currently owns three profitable businesses.
Admittedly, Adam was not initially a fan of Network Marketing. He did not understand the business model because it was new to him. However, once he learned that the REAL focus of Direct Sales is to help average people get a taste of entrepreneurialism --- with minimal risk and at a low cost --- Adam was absolutely convinced of the potential with Multi-Level Marketing.
Since joining the company as one of the original 11 founding distributors, Adam has discovered that many of his life-goals truly do align perfectly with Network Marketing. 'Gifted and Talented programme' Public Speaking Competition
The event took place on Thursday 26 June. It proved to be both an entertaining and informative evening. For many of our pupils who prepared and delivered presentations, speaking to a large group of people was a new experience.
The competition winners were the Religious Education Faculty, whose great life was Jackie Pullinger - a British missionary who went to Hong Kong and worked in the Kowloon Walled City. Her work has resulted in at least 500 drug addicts being saved from their drug addictions.

Portmeirion is a coastal holiday village in northern Wales, built by a talented and somewhat eccentric architect named Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975. Designed in the style of an Italian village, it’s on a tidal estuary bordering the
breathtaking Snowdonia National Park.
Aside from being a picturesque and unusual tourist destination, Portmeirion was also the primary filming location for the groundbreaking British TV show The Prisoner (1967-68), of which I’m a big fan. It’s such a unique and beautiful place that it’s easy to see why Patrick McGoohan, creator and star of the show, was inspired to shoot it there. The setting provides the perfect aesthetic for the show’s surreal vibe, giving the viewer a sense of what it’d be like to be trapped in such a distinctively weird place.
Side note: If you’re unfamiliar with The Prisoner, I recommend checking it out. It’s arguably one of the best TV shows of all time, and still has quite a cult following today. The Village and its idiosyncrasies are very much part of the show’s charm, and it’s cool that you can actually go there and experience it yourself.
When my wife and I first discovered the show, we immediately wanted to find out where it was filmed. Once we learned that you can visit the place, and even stay there, we knew we’d have to go someday. We did, and it was actually far cooler than expected. We hope to go back there at some point.
