Were you born in Year of the Rooster...?

This chrome sculpture is by the very talented Sean Guerrero. Love his artistry and creativity! This area used to be quite rural some 50-60 years ago. It was mostly fields and there was a little airport called Phoenix Field nearby. Now, roads are being widened here and more development is happening. To me, seeing this sculpture is fitting for the area and is a lovely reminder of the way I remembered the area in years past.

Have posted a similar image in my old stream which can not now access (entirely down to me, can not remember the answer to a secret question ),but am reposting this version as am over the moon with the results of their effort in the Better Photography exposure. Entered four images receiving three silver and a bronze which gives me much encouragement so forgive the brag just can not help myself and is a lot down to Flickr following this for some years studying the magical and talented photographers have come across and still find on this wonderful forum.

This is a storm cell chased over the beautiful Darling Downs one magical afternoon was heading to the Toowoomba Royal Show to photograph the fireworks and saw this storm out towards the west detoured, blow the fireworks, and drove like a whirling dervish and struck it lucky.

This image made it to the final 50 of "Revealing Nature" placed 39th along with another piece entered which finished in 9th place overall and for me was a most exciting outcome and a learning experience

Another talented singer who died tragically young. Time will not allow me to give an entire backstory about him. I am thankful that I remember him while he was still alive. my parents were fans of his music, and I'm a fan to this day. He spent most of his career with Motor Town (now Motown) Records before transitioning to CBS (now Sony) Records. Sadly, for people my age, Sexual Healing was his last hit on the airwaves, whereas his prior jams such as "Heard It Through The Grapevine", "I'll Be Doggone", "What's Going On?" just to name a few, literally, were but a sample of what defined him as a musician. Sadly, on April 1, 1984, one day before his 45th birthday, he was shot by his father during an altercation.

Marvin Gaye would be 82 years old if he were alive today. Still one of the greats to this day.
