Kyōto Station
The current Kyoto Station was designed by architect Hiroshi Hara, and it opened in 1997 which commemorated Kyoto's 1,200th anniversary. It is 70 meters high and 470 meters from east to west, with a total floor area of 238,000 square meters. Architecturally, it exhibits many characteristics of futurism, with a slightly irregular cubic façade of plate glass over a steel frame. During the mid-1990s, Kyoto was one of the least modern cities in Japan by virtue of its many cultural heritage sites, so locals were largely reluctant to accept such an ambitious structure. However, the station's completion began a wave of new high-rise developments in Kyoto that culminated in the 20-story Kyocera Building.

Katla is an Icelandic volcano covered by the Mýrdalsjökull ice cap in the south of the country. It lies to the east of Eyjafjöll, another volcano considered to be related to Katla. It is one of Iceland's most active and destructive volcanoes, responsible for several jökulhlaups (glacial lake outburst flood).
Another brilliant watercolour painting – this time of a gorgeous Sand Cat (Felis margarita) – by the very talented Devon Artist, Paul Hopkinson, based on one of my photographs. Paul is a wildlife artist and online art tutor who specialises in realistic, fine art watercolour paintings and teaching others how to paint. Find out more at: devonartist.co.uk
The Sand Cat, also known as the Sand Dune Cat, lives in the deserts of North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. But try finding one in the wild; the colour of its fur makes the perfect camouflage! This small cat is solitary except during the mating season and when a female has kittens. Sand Cats are threatened by habitat loss, hunting and collection for the pet trade.
You would think, drumming comes naturally, but even if you a talented, there is a long road to excellence. Immersed in the Senegalese African traditional music since a young age, Waly started with the djembe type drum. He enrolled at the conservatory in Bagnolet at the age of 7 and study classical percussion, but also drums, when he started listening to hip hop.
He completed his study in classical percussion at the City Conservatory of Paris and continued his career as a classical instrumentalist and other conservatories in contemporary music. At the same time, he studies percussion in Paris in Sabar (traditional Senegalese percussion) and in Gennevilliers - Afro-Cuban music. Throughout his poly-instrumentalist training, he joined numerous ensembles: Àbájade, Boubacar Kafando (Burkinabe fusion), the group of Maur Cyries (pop-rock) as drummer, Le Feste Antonacci and also electronic music. At the same time, he performs in the classical field with Radio France orchestra.
The cool venue of 'Fabrica des Artes' (FAC) on the westside of Havana provided a sophisticated atmosphere and audience. Àbájade is a group of musician from Paris and at this concert; they were even stronger with the participation of some Cuban musicians. It was a party from the first note! The 'Fabrica' is definitely worth to visit even when there are no concerts. This was taken on the last day of the jazz festival and the atmosphere was electric. La Fabrica has rotating exhibits of paintings, sculpture and photography.

Niko had a wonderful tree house at the end of our garden, but Hurricane Milton destroyed it. So he built this new one and just added the new seat in the second photograph. He is quite innovative and talented and loves to find new things to make.
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Mr. Maka Orion.
He is a very talented sl artist photographer and an active promoter of interesting social media initiatives related to SL photography.
Maka is also a special friend of mine, who helped me to develop this little idea about a talk show interview after he noticed my inclination to curiosity and to make a lot of questions ^^'.
So, after he teased me a little calling me nosey-rosey and asking what school of journalism did I attend :D
we have come to create this first (and probably last :D) episode of the "Cla Jones Not so Late Show".
Hope you'll enjoy!
Cla:Hi Maka, glad to have you here and thank you for letting me interview you
Maka:Hi Claudia, Thanks for having me!
C.:Could you tell us a little more about yourself? Like how did you find SL and when did you start going on SL?
M.:Well, I'm Maka and I'm a 30 year old guy from the Netherlands who loves making photographs and being artistic on SL.
I stumbled upon SL by accident really, i googled "Online open world games that are free" and after scrolling down a few boring options there was "Second Life". I checked it out and i found it interesting from the very beginning to create your own Avatar and basically do whatever you want to do.
And that was in 2014, somewhere in August so i believe i have my Rez day coming up soon!
The funny thing is after i created a avatar, somehow i teleported to this London sim and i literally thought that sim was all of SL! So i stayed there for a good week until people told me about this thing called teleporting and showed me different sims!
C.: Haha I guess we experience the funniest and weirdest things when we are newbies... How has your sl changed after 8 years? What's your vision of sl to day, do you think it's a game or something different?
M.: My vision of SL, hmm...I treat it mostly as a game but with real people behind the screens and real feelings and emotions while being aware and respect the fact that for some people it is literally a second life for them, and for some a escape from reality and all the drama that has happened there.
For me it was about meeting new people, doing fun things, explore new sims and hang out. But for the last few years i have been keeping myself busy in SL with other things, like photography and talking to friends.
C.: You certainly are a great SL photographer and you also are the manager of four Flickr groups: the three themed ones "A Black & White Second Life", "Cosplayers of Second Life", "A Sexy Second Life" and the very popular "Free Spirits of Second Life". How do you like this experience?
M.: Thank you for the compliment, i still see myself as a ordinary photographer who is still very much a student of the game. Yes, I do run them groups, I loved the idea of getting to see people's work and passion and i loved the idea of them sharing it in a group that i created as i felt i wanted to be a source of connection for these amazing artists. Where they could enjoy eachothers work and connect through that group with one another. I love that idea and i hope in some way i have achieved that, even if it's just a tiny bit.
C.: I believe you surely did, Maka! In addition to your groups, you also created the SundayFunday Photo Challenge. Every two weeks you invite all the sl photography's lovers to challenge themselves about a theme you propose.
Of all the themes you launched over these years, do you remember which ones have been particularly loved by the participants?
M.:Yes, and i recently expanded it to a 3 weeks event. The themes that seem most popular among the participants are the more serious ones like Black and white, Poems, quotes, portraits and stuff like that. They are also my favorite types of themes.
C.: Tell us about your SL photographs. What does inspire you and what type of photos do you like to take?
M.: Well, allot can inspire me actually. Sometimes i listen to a song and i get inspired, or read something, or see something on tv, quotes, poems, other people, you name it.
Mostly i like to take pictures with a deeper meaning, accompanied by a quote or poem. Something that puts my thoughts on camera and make a image out of them. Pictures that people might need to look at twice or more to get it or see the meaning behind it..That's what i love most, but i also love to challenge myself with other kinds of pictures.
C.:Which is the picture you took you love the most?
M.:It's hard to say what picture i love the most because they all have different meaning to me in different periods of my life and all in a different state of mind. I ahve taken pics when i was struggling with depression that are darker, and i have taken pictures when i was feeling really good that look really bright and happy.
But there is definetly one i cherish allot, and that is this one flickr.com/photos/141139571@N08/51713560748/in/dateposted/
C.:Thank you so much for being so open with us Maka and for taking the time to do this interview. I feel that the viewer has gotten to know you a bit better and got a glimpse of how the mind of an artist works. I thank you for your time and for wanting to answer my questions!

My own Original song was the inspiration for this picture: Lunar Whispers
I will now share something special with you, because these are my own words in my song. . . . . .
The Sun bows low
The Moon takes flight
I’m a shadow dancing in the quiet night
Whispered secrets rise like smoke
Dreams unspoken
They never broke
Can you feel it
The hush of the sky
The Moon knows my heart
Sees me cry
Hope in his glow
Trust in his light
A bond that burns through the endless night
Stars wink like they’re in on the joke
The world’s asleep
But I’m still woke
I tell the Moon what I can’t say
He nods
And the fears fade away
He’s a mirror
A guide
A silent tune
A melody strung between Sun and Moon
No words
No sound
Just endless space
Yet somehow
I feel his embrace
Can you feel it
The hush of the sky
The Moon knows my heart
Sees me cry
Hope in his glow
Trust in his light
A bond that burns through the endless night
When the Sun lends his glow
I confess
To the Moon
My wishes
My quiet distress
He smiles back
No need for reply
And I feel alive under the night sky
Sieht mich weinen
Hoffnung in seinem Schein
Vertrauen in seinem Licht
Keine Worte
Kein Ton
Nur endloser Raum
Und doch irgendwie
Spüre ich seine Umarmung
Kannst du es spüren?
Die Stille des Himmels
Der Mond kennt mein Herz
Sieht mich weinen
Hoffnung in seinem Schein
Vertrauen in seinem Licht
Meine stille Not

Alison Young is talented saxophonist who actually moved from talented to in-demand, veteran musician in few short years. Lucky for her, she will always be young.
Alison Young group was at the Poetry Jazz Cafe with Michael Shand, Lauren Falls on bass, Reg Schwager, guitar and possibly a drummer. Alison started to sing lately, something as I recall she never did earlier in her career.

I received a very nice flickrmail with a great critique on my fly macro from one of my favorite, very talented flickr friends. I read it over carefully early this morning and said, 'tis true, I have to concentrate more, think about the technical, not just go out and shoot. So, I go out this morning for a walk with Benny on the riverfront and what do I do... just shoot. And I like this photo! LOL.
Thanks for all your sweet comments yesterday. Got some more "bad" business news today from a client, which after some reflecting, might really be "very good" news. Sometimes God troubles the waters so I am forced out of rut (or a cesspool) that I won't get out of myself. This morning, I am actually excited about it. More time to shoot ;D, more opportunities to take work that I truly enjoy doing. It's even not a bad thing to tighten your belt for a bumpy ride once in awhile. Or bill! No more waiting! :D (Although, me thinks I should have gotten the telephoto before this happened, since I will adopt a wait and see attitude now. LOL)
Please do keep those criticisms coming... one day they'll stick! ;D Until then, enjoy some weeds on the water, which, reminded me of yet another Eva Cassidy cover... this time of a coded slave song, which later became a gospel classic.
Oh, it's also good lively tune, making it the perfect choice for boogie-ing around the kitchen with the Mr. and Benny Bear ;D!

One of my nieces gifted me with this tiny quilt created by her very talented mother who passed away last year. Her gift brought tears to my eyes. there is just so many very talented street artists who display their talent on the walls of some of Leicester's inner city buildings and the council truly appreciate it, i have only ever really seen it before in Christchurch NZ after the earthquake there to "enliven" a city that is down and it works here in Leicester a bit too. None of the tag graffiti but great artworks, i love photographing them, best Keef

'The Big Easy'
Doreen Ketchens is a very talented jazz clarinettist from New Orleans.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC8_zcGEZjc
The Big Easy - nickname for New Orleans, USA, referring to the easy-going, laid back attitude to life that jazz musicians and local residents indulge in there.
The origin of this is hard to determine. The name wasn't in common use until the publication of James Conaways' novel of the same name in 1970. Prior to that New Orleans was known as the Crescent City and some residents still prefer that nickname, viewing the Big Easy as a media-based import.
It's likely that Conaway picked up the name from existing slang. There are reports of a jazz club called the Big Easy, dating back to the early 20th century. Nevertheless, no evidence to substantiate those reports can be found. In fact, we can find no references to the term before 1970 that relate to New Orleans.
