October 2022 Lens Update:
Purchased in June 2021.
This wasn't an expensive lens to purchase, though I now regard this lens as a bit of a jewel.
It's a lovely small little lens. Great bubble Bokeh and that was a real surprise.
Other so-called bubble Bokeh lenses can be very expensive.
Lens has a small 46mm filter thread.

I swear these old M42 lenses have their own personality, this was taken with a Super-Takumar 55mm f1:2
my Asahi Takumar (screwmount, M42) collection as it was 3+ years ago, ranging from the fish-eye S-M-C 17/4 on the bottom left, to S-M-C 300/4 on the back. The collection has grown by some aditions, notably the S-M-C version of the 24mm Takumar (the one pictured above is the "super" version) and the 49mm filter thread version of the 35/2 Takumar(the one pictured above, front row, right, is the first version with 67mm thread and radioactive thorium-oxide elements!). I love Takumars!
While watching 007 classic You Only Live Twice, was struck by this interesting shot - Japanese spook girl's car equipped with Takumar lenses.
Super-Takumar 1:1.4 50mm on the left is of course the old classic - radioactive thorium rear element lens commonly plagued by yellowing problem. Once yellowing is cured by exposure to UV light - terrific lens.
The other lens - Quartz-Takumar 3.5/85mm on the right is something not commonly found - an experimental lens for UV photography primarily for scientific purposes. The fact that movie producers decided to equip the car with such a rare and exotic lens is amazing, its almost like they used the real spy car for the shoot.

There's always one...
This was shot wide open (2.5) or f2.8 most. This is a non crop. It took a few times to nail the focus on the bulb that's lost it's light, but that's quite a far bit away from the centre, I really didn't expect it to hold that level of sharpness that far from centre wide open like this.
I really really like this lens :)
