Cameron's eagle eye spotted this kidney fern (thanks Jonathan) - the only leaf in maybe 10sqm of leaves covering the forest floor.

Beautiful color, sharpness and rendering from a 50 years old lens

It's dull, wet and windy outside. Time for some colour and warmth to lift the mood.

Last week I won, at an online auction, 2 takumar lenses. One is the auto-takumar 55mm f2.2 (black aperture ring) and the other is the takumar 200mm f5.6.

I was lucky to bring those home for less than 50 euro and considering the good condition of the lenses it was a hit!

This picture is taken with the 55mmf2.2 but condition of light is not ideal outside with cloudy/snowy weather. So I'm eager to test this lens with some backlight/shade situation to see the result of the bokeh.

The 55mmf2.2 is not the same construction quality as the other takumars in my possession as it has some plastic parts so in hand it doesn't have that quality feel. The 200mmf5.6 is a big surprise to me regarding the look and construction quality. I thought it would be beasty as the tak200mmf3.5 but it's the half of it and it's all metal and so beautiful! Drowback for me is the f5.6 considering that I mostly shoot hand-held.

The spring flowering continues with these Echeveria popping out all through the rock areas of the garden.

I recently bought an Asahi Takumar 17mm f4 fisheye lens and Today I got out to see what it can do. Fairly typical of fisheye lenses.
