It's dull, wet and windy outside. Time for some colour and warmth to lift the mood.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. Jesus, Matthew 11: 28-30
A quick grab from the garden of a maple leaf, suspended by a single thread of spider web. Tak 200mm F/3.5
Another shot of the Hastings at Newark Air museum. Light was nice for this, clouds were good, and the lens glass is very yellow so it all came together.

Lots of orchids at Dunns Swamp this year with these Sun Orchids seemingly everywhere. Takumar 50/1.4
Midday, breezy and hand held - the perfect set up for epic failure. Luckily the Tak 50/4 Macro was up to the challenge.

Last week I won, at an online auction, 2 takumar lenses. One is the auto-takumar 55mm f2.2 (black aperture ring) and the other is the takumar 200mm f5.6.
I was lucky to bring those home for less than 50 euro and considering the good condition of the lenses it was a hit!
This picture is taken with the 55mmf2.2 but condition of light is not ideal outside with cloudy/snowy weather. So I'm eager to test this lens with some backlight/shade situation to see the result of the bokeh.
The 55mmf2.2 is not the same construction quality as the other takumars in my possession as it has some plastic parts so in hand it doesn't have that quality feel. The 200mmf5.6 is a big surprise to me regarding the look and construction quality. I thought it would be beasty as the tak200mmf3.5 but it's the half of it and it's all metal and so beautiful! Drowback for me is the f5.6 considering that I mostly shoot hand-held.
I recently bought an Asahi Takumar 17mm f4 fisheye lens and Today I got out to see what it can do. Fairly typical of fisheye lenses.

We have a pair of Carolina Wrens constructing a nest in a pot of Yellow Bird Orchids that is under cover of the deck. It's a large nest and we assume it must be their second brood this year because of how late it is. It is right outside our patio door so we can watch the chicks grow. Should be lots of fun. I spotted this one on the squirrel feeder with some material. He was waiting for me to move out of the way to he could take it to the new nest. Quite interesting.
