A big Tunnel motor waits to take a train west on the Tip, back when they were under Rail America Control. At the time we couldn't believe they RA was running such heavy power on the shit TP&W track. Eventually the RA paid for it when their lack of track maintanance, lack of business, and heavy motors didn't quite make sense on this small RR. The big tunnel motors didnt quite agree with small, unkept, spur tracks found in towns like, say, Piper City, IL. The Tip in today's G&W control now demands big power, which shows when they pull 140 car trains. As much as as I dislike a conglomerate company owning my Tip, the G&W sure has turned this railroad around for the best.

Later remanufactured by North American as an AT-28D and joined the Royal Lao Air Force as ‘0-38352’. Moved on to the Philippine Air Force in 1980 as ’53-138352’, but remained stored at Manila until 1988 when it was sold back to the USA. In private hands since then, she had just arrived in Norway from her previous owner in Canada when we saw her. She has since been reregistered locally as ‘LN-XXT’.

TP&W #24 arriving at Effner, Ind. This is the end of the line for the TP&W and the start of the PC (PRR) line to Logansport, Ind.
Note the 2 PC GP's in the background, they have set out their train for the TP&W and are waiting for the TP&W to leave their train so that they can get it and start out for home.
I believe this excursion was named the Prairie Marksman, a 2 day trip from Effner, Ind. to Keokuk, Iowa and back the next day on Sept. 29 and 30, 1979 with freshly painted GP30 700 that was repainted from the Bicentennial paint scheme. shown here at Effner, Ind. loading passengers for the trip west.

Conjunt de l'Església de Sant Pau i poble de Fontclara d`Empordà (Baix Empordà)
Sant Pau de Fontclara és una església romànica enclavada a Fontclara nucli proper a la població de Palau-sator, dins la comarca del Baix Empordà.
Antic monestir benedictí que depenia del monestir occità de Santa Maria de la Grassa, segons un document de confirmació de béns que va fer Carles el Simple, l'any 908.
Durant els segles XVI i XVII en unes reformes que es van fer, es van afegir unes capelles laterals.
Conserva in situ unes interessants pintures murals situades a l'arc triomfal i a l'absis. Estan presidides per la imatge de Maiestas Domini, dintre d'una màndorla envoltada pels símbols dels quatre evangelistes, i amb els dotze apòstols disposats a la part inferior. Les altres pintures, es troben en pitjor estat de conservació, representant la vida de sant Pau. El colorit és vermell, ocre i blau. Han estat datades d'inici del segle XIII, dintre d'un estil semblat a les de l'església de Sant Julià de Boada o Cruïlles.
Les pintures murals que tenen unes dimensions de 15 m², van ser descobertes el 1940, quan es va fer una primera restauració poc respectuosa amb l'original, segons les mateixes fonts.

San Pablo de Fontclara es una iglesia románica enclavada en Fontclara núcleo cercano a la población de Palau-sator, en la comarca del Baix Empordà.
Antiguo monasterio benedictino que dependía del monasterio occitano de Santa María de la Grasa, según un documento de confirmación de bienes que hizo Carlos el Simple, el año 908.
Durante los siglos XVI y XVII en unas reformas que se hicieron, se añadieron unas capillas laterales.
Conserva in situ unas interesantes pinturas murales situadas en el arco triunfal y el ábside. Están presididas por la imagen de Maiestas Domini, dentro de una mandorla rodeada por los símbolos de los cuatro evangelistas, y con los doce apóstoles dispuestos en la parte inferior. Las otras pinturas, se encuentran en peor estado de conservación, representando la vida de san Pablo. El colorido es rojo, ocre y azul. Han sido datadas de principios del siglo XIII, dentro de un estilo parecido a las de la iglesia de Sant Julià de Boada o Cruïlles.
