The days trip from East Peoria to Effner, IN, was off to a very foggy morning and the rest of the day was heavy overcast.
After waiting out a southbound CN train at Gilman the TP&W is once again rolling east with work at Crescent City next.
Today's OARCB (old ass rivet counter boomer) mundane high sun, silver box, gravel pile, leaning, wirey, mindless wedgie!
It was close. I almost had to resort to putting in another sub for today's mundane wedgie but I know no one wants that. So thankfully I managed a brand new shot taken today. We are once again at Rosemont and #179 has blessed us with some wings, the first in months here. It just doesn't get any better than this!
Once the site of a massive passenger station for the New York Central and TP&W railroads, the diamond west of Sheldon, Illinois today sports nothing more than a post-apocolyptic looking shack. Nevertheless, its utility remains important to route trains like this westbound TP&W freight over what is now the KB&S railroad (or vice versa).

SEPTA Transit's fleet of Ford Crown Victoria's have become a rare sight since 2016 when the fleet of CVPI's were replaced with 2016 Interceptors. As of 2021, Around 5 2011 CVPI's remain inside SEPTA's Transit force. You can find this Crown Victoria housed at SEPTA's 69th St Transportation Center in Upper Darby, PA.
