A fine TP&W trio bangs some cars around between Sheldon, Illinois and Effner, Indiana. It was most pleasant to see this clean trio on a fine afternoon.

â–¶ This wee fellow (a Cuban tree frog) was as surprised by me as I was by him when I spotted him taking up residence in an inside bathroom. Using some readily available toilet paper, I gently grabbed him, moving him to a more congenial location, out-of-doors. As you can see, residue of my technique remained affixed to his hind leg. A few minutes later, he shook off his shock and moved on...hopefully without the TP.
â–¶ The Cuban tree frog (Osteopilus septentrionalis) is considered a highly invasive species in Florida.

The outside dew-point was 28 °C and the temperature 35 °. Indoors, it was 5 ° cooler (the A/C on full blast). So, when I brought my camera outside to take this shot, the lens misted over. A little bit of Photoshop Elements magic helped, but the image was still a bit foggy. So, after this, I stored my lenses, while indoors, within a sealed bag to forestall moisture pick-up.

When we arrived home from our trip, two of our bathrooms were in this state. Ivar had quite the fun time and we had a huge laugh about it!

Nato all'incirca intorno al 90 a.C. da famiglia plebea, ebbe un'educazione letteraria con lo studio del greco e divenne un valente oratore alla scuola di Cicerone, grande amico del padre. Lucio Munazio Planco, rivesti cariche importantissime, console, amministratore delle legioni dei Veterani, censore (giudice senza appello, secondo per autorità solo all'imperatore), ebbe parte notevole nei turbinosi avvenimenti che segnarono il trapasso dello Stato Romano dalla forma repubblicana a quella imperiale, dalla battaglia sull'Isère (43 a.C.) alla battaglia di Azio (31 a.C.).
Fu vicino ai maggiori astri del suo tempo: Cesare, Cicerone, Marco Antonio, Cleopatra, Lepido, Ottaviano ecc. e, pur avendo vissuto in un'epoca funestata da vicende politiche sconvolgenti, riuscì a restare in vita ed accumulare onori e ricchezze come nessun altro. Si affermava che legioni di schiavi lavoravano per lui nelle grandi aziende ubicate in Grecia, Asia e nelle Gallie. Quando Ottaviano programmò di abbellire Roma con grandi opere ed invitò i facoltosi della città a realizzare, grazie alla loro munificenza, splenditi edifici sacri e profani, Planco scelse di ricostruire il tempio di Saturno (forse in memoria del fondatore della sua città natale).
Così affianco al Pantheon di Agrippa, al tempio di Diana di Cornificio, al tempio d'Ercole di Marcio Filippo ... il grandioso tempio di Saturno di Planco (foto a lato). Il tempio di Saturno era il luogo da dove, ogni 17 dicembre, partiva la celebrazione dei Saturnali che durava fino al 23 dicembre. Era la festa di fine anno dei Romani, quando gli schiavi diventavano padroni per un giorno.
Il tempio fungeva anche da ministero del Tesoro, con il tesoro di Stato che era conservato in una stanza "blindata", e nel tempio erano depositati i "senatus Consultus", cioè i decreti del Senato che avevano vigore solo dopo essere stati depositati nel tempio. Il tempio fu distrutto da un incendio e ricostruito nel IV sec. Attualmente restano del tempio di Saturno il portico, con sei colonne frontali e due laterali con relativi capitelli nonché resti del basamento (vedi foto).
Lucio Munazio Planco morì a circa 90 anni, all'incirca quando nasceva "Cristo" nella sontuosa villa di Gaeta della quale oggi restano, a testimonianza della sua grandiosità , cinque cisterne di notevole capacità ed un sontuoso mausoleo (foto in alto) fatto erigere da Lucio Munazio Planco per custodire le sue ceneri.
Originally a P-40K and assigned to 11th Air Force in Alaska in 1942, it crash landed in a fresh water swamp in Port Heiden, AK in 1943. Recovered in 1975, it was rebuilt to airworthy condition and has since been converted into the two seat trainer/pursuit version in the Collings Foundation collection today.
