One of a number of post box remembrance toppers “We will remember them”. This topper was made by the creator of “Torphins Knitted Post Box”. It has been placed in Ballater to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could have our freedom. The purple poppies represent animals sacrificed in conflicts the horses, homing pigeons and more recently dogs. 2022 marks the 101th year of the our Armed Forced Community. Wear your Poppy with pride. You can donate to Poppy Scotland in many local shops and businesses, or online.
This is a referral from Sharon Wee, and is therefore based on her bird topper design. It's for a wedding and I was asked to include a little bird to represent their child.
Done in polymer clay as it has to be shipped. Used foil as internal armature to keep them light.
He was born in late November.....he is now five years old and his older brother Gunner is six years old and has his pictures on preceding pages.

These vintage tree toppers are my Christmas decorating obsession. I have 39 of them on display and a few more that I didn't put out. I can't pass one up when I see them at a sale. Most have been obtained at yard sales or estate sales.
...... a slightly different version of my previous lion topper was requested for this cake.

They wanted very pale colours ..... lilac, soft green and yellow .... and a very light coloured lion with brown eyes, not black, and with no whites to the eyes so that he did not have a "cartoony" look about him.
I hope this meets the criteria !
Luckily this time the lion's head didn't slide off when I added the mane like the last one did ...... I learnt my lesson there ! ;o)) LOL
The cake will be finished later in the week (with a bit of luck !)
Lion modelled freehand out of fondant with added CMC and meant to look like a soft toy .... buttons are also fondant.

Finally back at my sewing machine!! what a perfect day to stitch up a table topper! It's going to my friend as a hostess gift for letting us stay with them this coming weekend. Sure hope she likes it!
This is the coming home pattern in Camille Roskelley's book simplify. I used 16 charm squares instead of the called for 36. Planning on stitching on the binding as we drive.:)
This is a topper for a baby shower cake ...... I'm not making the cake, just this topper.
The mother-to-be is cabin crew for a well known airline (!) and they know that the baby is a little girl. As the mother is very "girly" herself, I decided to do a little baby in a pretty outfit asleep on a cloud, towing a toy plane to add a little connection to mum's job !
The lovely ribbon around the board was a present from a very kind flickr friend and was just perfect for this ..... thank you Liz !
