This is an exhibition I had last saturday with some friends @ Pinkghost, a lovely Gallery / Store in Hollywood, Florida.
Thanks to all the friends who came and Andrea & Paola that made this happen : )

Taken from the Bae Systems website 19/06/2012:
The aircraft will fly using Instrument Flight Rules under air traffic control. In preparation, trials taking place this month include the world’s first use of autonomous, vision-based weather-avoidance routing and the first UK surrogate flight of a fully functional visual sense-and-avoid system which includes collision avoidance tests using a second aircraft. This trial will begin to demonstrate to regulators such as the Civil Air Authority and air traffic control service providers, the progress made towards achieving the safe use of UAVs in UK airspace.
The new technology is part of a suite of innovations being brought together for the first time as a UK industry-led programme known as ASTRAEA (Autonomous Systems Technology Related Airborne Evaluation & Assessment); a UK industry-led consortium focusing on the technologies, systems, facilities, procedures and regulations that will allow autonomous vehicles to operate safely and routinely in civil airspace over the United Kingdom.
Lambert Dopping-Hepenstal, the Engineering Director at BAE Systems responsible for the ASTRAEA programme said: “The use of a surrogate Uninhabited Air Vehicle allows prototype autonomous systems developed by the ASTRAEA team to be evaluated safely in the air. The BAE Systems Jetstream Flying Test Bed has been configured as a “surrogate UAV’ where the on-board pilots can take their hands off the controls and hand over control to the on-board system developed by the ASTRAEA team. Racks of computers and control systems in the rear of the aircraft mean it can fly as if it were a UAV without any input from the pilots.
He continued: “The ASTRAEA system is capable of preventing mid-air collisions with other aircraft using a ‘sense and avoid’ system, detecting and avoiding bad weather conditions and relaying air traffic control instructions to the remote pilot via satellite to the ground control station. The weather avoidance system will use sophisticated image processing techniques to detect and avoid clouds and is just one of the new capabilities being tested onboard the Jetstream.”
From now and until the winter, the ASTRAEA system on-board the Jetstream will be put through its paces, in a series of at least 20 flight tests over the Irish Sea and through UK airspace.

TV is new. I couldn't decide between the 46" and the 40". I decided to get the 40" and I'm glad because when I had to put this in my car, it *barely* fit. I would not have been able to get the 46" in my car.
The KEF speakers are new. I haven't even listened to them once yet. But they look amazing - way better than my old Bose speaker set.

Poptech is an annual conference that happens in Camden, Maine every fall. This year the Poptech family has added some special Poptech Salons which deliver the conference energy to a smaller audience.
The second Poptech Salon called Science, Living Systems and the Edge of Change took place on June 22nd in Washington, DC. This salon took a look into the researchers and scientists who are revolutionizing the way we look and interact with 'complex' living systems.
Seoul Railway System is a railway map of Seoul metropolitan area whose overall image is inspired by Tae-Geuk mark of the Korean national flag. Han River, flowing across the city from east to west, has been the driving force behind the development of the capital city and is the symbol of the long history of the Korean Peninsula.
This map also shows the territory of Han Yang, the old capital of the Jo-Seon Dynasty and Five Grand Palaces. This is the old Seoul marked by the Four Gates, and the growth of the city becomes clear when compared to the modern metropolitan area.

The flux system of the University of British Columbia during the 2016 summer campaign at Illisarvik. The eddy covariance system consisted of a CSAT-3 ultrasonic anemometer-thermometer, a Li-7500 open path infrared gas analyzer, and a Li-7700 open path methane analyzer. It was installed to quantify greenhouse gas exchange over a drained permafrost lake basin to quantify methane exchange.

I continued to think all was well until I realized that the chute was staying “way up there” but the rocket was not.

This is a high throughput membrane screening system. It tests 16 membranes simultaneously, which means we can screen materials about ten times as fast as by conventional means. It was designed and built (and patented) at NETL to look at mixed matrix membranes. Those are polymeric membranes that incorporate metal-organic frameworks into their structure to improve performance. The application is post-combustion CO2 capture.
Yes, I cheat and cut LEGO pieces sometimes.
In this instance, I cut two blue push rails and two flex tracks in order to make a module to transition from one type of track to the other.
The module is 16 studs long, which means I can now have a track configuration featuring both types of tracks without having to worry about how to tie up the loop.

Backlight provided by our star for this photo from the Saturn probe showing the extent of the ring system. The rings are made up of almost countless objects sized from dust to houses+, much made of water ice. The continual brightness (reflectivity) of the rings is attributed to constant collisions between particles exposing a fresh and very reflective surface.
Saturn is 1,277,127,510 km. from Earth, with a diameter of 120536 km.
The distant Earth is a very small "dot" on this image. The probe is a long way from home.
