A little late, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a week!

This past week my husband did something that has been done for generations in our neck of the woods - he stuck spiles into the maple trees in our yard, collected sap, and boiled it down in pans on our wood stove. Nothing like pure New Brunswick maple syrup, from our own yard and home, done the old-fashioned way. :)

It takes 40 gallons of maple sap to make one gallon of syrup, and 120 gallons of sap to make one gallon of birch syrup. Very good.

On Sunday, February 23, 2014, over 350 attended Colvin Run Mill Historic Site’s old-fashioned maple syrup boil-down.

She has an ear infection. Her temp is still peaking at >39 and we're in day 5! Poor girlie. I am hoping we'll be clear by Christmas.

I would never be without my ear thermometer. Best 40GBP i've ever spent.

if glop is defined as inedible or bad can gloupy be called good or is it to be spelled gloopy and be good? Maybe it is too close to greedy but as a simple perception it must be as innocent as blob, surely.
